Based in Seoul, South Korea, Robros used AutoCAD and Autodesk Fusion to develop Igris, an AI-powered humanoid robot that brings physical AI into real-world movement and interaction. By taking advantage of 3D modeling, simulation, generative design, and PCB development in Fusion, the team improved development speed, accuracy, and collaboration.

Physical AI is moving robotics into a new era with machines that can understand and respond to the real world. At Robros, this vision is taking shape with Igris, an AI-powered humanoid robot.

Autodesk software played an important role in the robot’s development. Robros first used AutoCAD to capture proportions and shapes in 2D. The team then brought that into Autodesk Fusion for 3D modeling and simulation.

“By adopting Fusion as an integrated platform, design, simulation, and production are now connected in one seamless flow, dramatically improving both development speed and accuracy,” says JungWoo Choi, developer and engineer, Robros.

Fusion helped the team address engineering challenges early. Robros compared real-world movement tests, including motor torque and joint response measurements, with simulations in Fusion. This allowed the team to identify issues sooner and improve the robot’s stability. Cloud-based data management also helped team members share updates in real time, reducing version conflicts and preventing data loss.

The team also used Fusion’s generative design capabilities to optimize joints and link structures, reducing weight while maintaining strength. Integrated PCB design in Fusion supported the development of sensors and control systems that could operate reliably inside the robot’s physical structure.

“We want to go far beyond simple machines and create robots that grow alongside people,” says SeungJun No, CEO, Robros. “That passion is fully embodied in Igris C.”
