Take Next-Generation BIM 360 Field to the Next Level with AI-Based Workflows (really!)

Hear Clayco (ENR #36)—a contractor with 1,785 employees across offices in Chicago, St. Louis, Atlanta, and Greenville—describe implementing next-generation BIM 360 Field software, as well as the AI-based photo and video risk-management software Smartvid.io. The Smartvid.io platform uses a construction-trained AI engine, “Vinnie,” to provide near-real-time analytics of imagery coming from all projects using BIM 360 Field (both next-generation and “classic”) for indicators of safety risk, from workers at height to standing water and even PPE. New capabilities introduced in 2019 enable those observations to be turned into BIM 360 Field safety observations with a click, connecting AI observations with the observations workflows already enabled in BIM 360 software. We’ll describe the implementation journey of Clayco with Smartvid.io, as the platform has expanded from an initial deployment of 10 projects to one now being used on more than 75 projects across the country.
