Buildings and Infrastructure—Together at Last!—With Forma Design Collaboration

Are you interested in using Forma Design Collaboration (formerly BIM 360 Design software) for multidisciplinary projects? This class is for you! Following a quick product overview, we'll dive into a live project for a whirlwind tour. We’ll start in the authoring tools—working with files from Revit software, Civil 3D software, and AutoCAD Plant 3D software—and show you how to share those files to the cloud. Next, we'll jump into design collaboration, where each design team will create and share its work packages. We'll then move over to model coordination and review any 3D clashes that have popped up. From there, we’ll visit BIM 360 Docs software and see how all project stakeholders have roles to play in model viewing, sharing, markups, issues, and more. Finally, we'll wrap up our journey in Insight building performance analysis software, where we’ll track the health of our project at a glance. Getting Started with Autodesk Forma

We all have to start somewhere, and getting started is often the most difficult endeavor of all. In this class, we'll begin at the beginning, and look at how anyone can get started with Autodesk Forma. Come and see how the platform is more than just a construction tool for organizing and sharing project data. We'll look at Forma Data Management software and see how it may be used as a common data environment (CDE) that follows ISO 19650 procedures and respects the information management method defined in the standards. With Autodesk BIM Collaborate and Forma Design Collaboration, we can work collaboratively with Autodesk Forma. Also, we’ll take a look at Forma Build software's toolset for the management of all of our project information, as well as Forma Takeoff software's real-time estimation view.

Configure - Plan - Fabricate -Build | Sustainable Fabrication Workflows for Timber Buildings

Sustainability and cost efficiency for residential building is more important than ever. We will present with our customer Haas an integrated workflow from the configurator, an automated detailed design process in Revit to fabrication and the construction site. This digital process allows prospects to visually configure and calculate any residential or family timber house. These visualization of the customer's request via the house configurator leads to a faster and high-quality discussion with the customer. Seamless transition from configuration to design in Autodesk Revit ensures that no extra detail design work must be carried out manually. That model is transferred into the fabrication process and finally all data is leveraged via BIM360/ACC BUILD on construction sites for project and quality management and daily logs.

Breaking Through the Cloud – A 30,000 ft View of Forma and Design Software Workflows

AutoCAD (& verticals) Plant 3D, and Revit all have different workflows with ACC/BIM 360 projects and the Desktop Connector. After many challenging hours I believe I have finally found a way to explain the various ACC/BIM 360 workflows and would like to share this knowledge with everyone else who's also dealing with all these various workflows and collaboration options. Specifically, I'm going to cover working with Revit, Plant 3D, and Civil 3D (same workflows for AutoCAD) with ACC and/or BIM 360 projects. I'll also cover the Desktop Connector 15 and 16 and the differences we've encountered, good and bad.

Explore the key principles outlined in the standard and discuss the benefits of a managed data collaboration process. We will showcase the methodology for creating role-based permission groups, naming conventions, document control classification, data exchanges, workflow review processes, and more. Recognizing the need for adaptability, we will demonstrate how the ISO 19650-compliant template can easily be customized to suit unique requirements of U.S. architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) firms and meet industry regional state and local standards. Developed in BIM 360 and translated to Autodesk Forma, the template serves as the basis for project creation across a global firm and can accommodate large and small projects

Adopt BIM360/Forma in 4 companies using innovative change management methods

Effective cultural and organizational change adoption has become a core competency for firms, in today’s rapidly changing AEC industry. Within VolkerWessels Infrastructure we drive digital transformation to our 4 divisions with a central digital program. In this class we will show how we used a proven changemanagement methodology in a specific adoption approach, in order to implement and adopt BIM360/Forma as a new cloud platform. The adoption approach is based on ADKAR, a changemanagement methodology by Prosci. This enables us to pay attention to communication, sponsors, resistance, instructions, coaching and the return on investment of the change. The effect is digital transformation, improved operational excellence and more 'bang for buck' from IT investments, in Cloud technology like BIM360/Forma. This make change and adoption one of our core competencies. We adopted BIM360/Forma efficiently and successfully in our organization by increasing the aspects of ADKAR to the target audience.

Autodesk Forma and Autodesk Forge: Our CDE Backbone That Integrates the Hospital Data Management

This class will demonstrate the implementation of a powerful common data environment—using Autodesk Forma and BIM 360 platforms combined with an application developed in Autodesk Forge—for the management of hospital project data. The Grand Paris North Hospital project is intended to be the largest hospital in Paris, France, and was designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop and Brunet Saunier Architecture. We’ll use this project to explain the implementation of data workflows in order to build optimized circuits that involve all project stakeholders, planners, the owner, users, architects, and all the engineers’ firms with Forma Design Collaboration and Forma Data Management (design collaboration, model coordination, and issues management). More than 100 people! We’ll show how a connected Autodesk Forge application will collect data from Autodesk Forma in order to push automation processes in data analysis and deliverables creation. We’ll do a live demonstration of this real Autodesk Forge-based BIM data checker enabling data processes throughout the project lifecycle, from plan to operation.
