Today, the construction data ecosystem consists of several disconnected apps and data silos. BIM 360 software provides a common platform and the ability to connect these different data sources. In this session, PARIC Construction and Autodesk will share the advantages of investing in a construction platform like BIM 360. PARIC Construction will talk about how the firm was able to connect BIM 360 with its core workflows for estimation and scheduling to provide a connected ecosystem for its users. The class will also elaborate on how machine learning and other artificial intelligence (AI)-related technologies are being used to work with this unified data to create smarter workflows. PARIC Construction is a leading general contractor that was an early adopter of AI-driven workflows. Andy Leek is the VP of innovation, and has been leading this change at PARIC.
- Learn about the advantages of using BIM 360 to connect different point-data solutions
- Understand the short- and long-term impacts of having your data on a connected platform
- Learn about new workflows that are connecting design and execution
- Gain insight into how you can transform your current environment into a connected ecosystem
As Director, Andy is responsible for strategic planning and implementation of VDC technology. Andy’s tenure at PARIC has focused on developing a forward-looking technology plan that integrates cloud-based design and field tools with processes that enable PARIC’s extended project teams to be more collaborative and efficient. With an architectural background, Andy has utilized technology to create building design solutions and compelling presentations. The convergence of AEC technology and a variety of industry experience has enabled Andy to lead an active VDC team with a focus on design and field innovation. Andy and his team work with various technology providers to influence the development of new tools and processes, and this interaction enables their support of PARIC’s core business units. Their use of reality-capture and field layout technology enables better coordinated projects, and highly accurate control for the installation of MEP systems and structural prefab components. The use of integrated technologies has further enabled PARIC field teams to focus on ‘building’ with significant reductions in design related issues.
Anand Rajagopal wanted to be an architect but ended up a data scientist. He now works at Autodesk where he's bringing AI and machine learning to Construction. He has recently been, physically and digitally, visiting construction sites with Safety Mangers to understand safety practices in Construction.
