Enterprise, medium-size, and small companies all have the same challenges: How to manage CAD data and how to collaborate on designs across multiple teams in an efficient way. This class will focus on an audience that’s using Autodesk's design and manufacturing products like AutoCAD software, AutoCAD Mechanical software, Inventor software, and more. In the first part, we’ll clearly explain how Vault software can help you to manage 2D and 3D CAD data and collaborate with others. Further, we'll smoothly integrate Vault software’s Project Sync in our workflow as a facilitation to collaborate with externals. Once, we've passed our first connection to the cloud, we’re going to demonstrate additional cloud-product use cases you can integrate to be more productive.

Since 2007, Advance2000 has enabled Remote Work solutions including high-end virtual desktops (VDI), Servers, Storage, Telephony, Data Backup, and Support for the AEC Industry. We will present an overview of the VDI solution for Remote Work and demonstrate Revit working on a VDI. We will show how to connect and use your VDI from any location, whether from home, job site, hotel or client’s office. We’ll discuss the technology and how it compares to other ways of Remote Work. Then, we will share a case study showing how an Advance2000 client is utilizing the Adavance2000 AEC cloud Infrastructure. After the case study we’ll include a short testimonial discussing how another Advance2000 client was affected by the COVID pandemic and used the Advance2000 Cloud to enable work-as-usual. Finally, we’ll conclude with a brief outline how your firm can implement remote working and collaboration and take advantage of Advance2000’s virtual desktops and cloud infrastructure.

Prefabrication and automation in offsite wood construction requires highly detailed building models while maintaining performance. This puts constraints on both the model creation phase, as well as the output phase. The extracted data, as well as the fabrication process automation data needs to be accessible by all stakeholders - the builders, prefabricators and project managers. By combining Autodesk products and APIs, hsbcad has developed vastly improved workflows for its customers and their stakeholders. This class describes the process that hsbcad - as an AutoCAD, and Revit plugin development company - has gone through in order to become a web development company. We will describe the innovation that Autodesk Forge has triggered at hsbcad; and our evolution from using the Forge Viewer with BIM360 integration, to a full featured web application that uses the Design Automation API for Revit to digest Revit models and link them up with existing hsbcad desktop and cloud functionality.

We will describe the nitty-gritty programming details to implement a cloud-based system to analyze, visualize, and report on universal component usage. The components can be Revit software families used in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or any other kind of assets in any other kind of system. The focus is on the cloud-based database used to manage the component occurrences, either in global or project-based coordinate systems. You can make searches based on both keywords and geographical location. Models are visualized using pure WebGL, Three.js, and the Autodesk View and Data API, providing support for online viewing and model navigation. You can use the web app in any browser and on any mobile device with no need to install any additional software whatsoever. This is an advanced class for experienced programmers.

AWS Deadline Cloud for VRED software is a fully managed, cloud-based, render management solution to burst high-quality rendering at scale. This easy-to-deploy and affordable solution supports VRED core and service-managed fleet (SMF) infrastructure—managed by AWS, requiring no IT commitments to configure, deploy, and maintain infrastructure and licensing. Customer-managed fleet (CMF) infrastructure offers end users the flexibility to use their existing on-prem hardware infrastructure or cloud-based environments to perform VRED rendering. Slides and live demos will illustrate how AWS Deadline Cloud for VRED can be integrated into an existing pipeline. This is illustrated through interfaces, including stand-alone tools, the Deadline Cloud API, and a render job submitter. Features highlighted will include grouping workers to fleets, assigning render job prioritization and scheduling, as well as monitoring progress through the Deadline Cloud monitor desktop application and AWS Management Console.
