BIM 360 software product suite encompasses the connection between design and construction. The purpose of this class will be to illustrate how the Building Information Modeling (BIM) products interact together to create a collaborative environment throughout the building construction lifecycle. We will provide an overview of BIM 360 software products that includes useful tips and best practices for administrators and new users in the set up, use, and distribution of information gathered from preconstruction to project handover.

BIM 360 Insight software offers a new way to review project performance. Those activities and interactions happen within the BIM 360 account and would be recorded, calculated, and summarized accurately and shown in the BIM 360 Insight module. To extend the benefits of data management in the same cloud base, we can import and link an external data source to BIM 360 software. Microsoft Power BI is the important media to connect the extra statistics and link with BIM 360. We will introduce more possible data analysis tools such as Google Colab and Python.

This demonstration will highlight the new unified BIM 360 experience, focusing on BIM 360 Document Integration with the new BIM 360 Model Coordination web application (which replaces functionality from the BIM 360 Glue Class app). We will walk through setting up a new unified BIM 360 project and activating the BIM 360 Document Management and the BIM 360 Model Coordination services. We’ll demonstrate how these 2 applications can work hand in hand with each other to streamline coordination with Revit software (via BIM 360 Design), Navisworks software, and AutoCAD software-based models. And we will demo the individual features of both applications.

You can imbed the display component, or Viewer API, in your application. Using the BIM 360 Glue software API, you can, for example, automate the updating of projects and models from external applications. BIM 360 Glue software keeps track of a user's actions as data in additional to traditional model-centric information. You can also use such information to make a report that will keep track of a team's progress. Of course, BIM 360 Glue software is totally cloud based, so you can connect your own web services applications with the BIM 360 Glue software projects. The Innovative Construction Solutions (ICS) Team at Skanska USA Building recently implemented BIM 360 Ops software for one of Skanska's commercial development clients to facility manage a newly constructed luxury condominium residential tower in Boston, Massachusetts. This particular client also requested model visualization to complement the mobile-first work order management capabilities of BIM 360 Ops, and required that the ICS Team partner with Autodesk to develop an API integration between BIM 360 Ops and its existing tenant concierge software platform. This class will look at overall management, administration, and troubleshooting for BIM 360 software. We’ll demonstrate tips and techniques for managing larger number of BIM 360 projects (200-plus), and cover areas such as project governance, management of local collaboration cache, initial setup techniques, and best practices. We’ll point out some common areas of confusion for project administrators, and we’ll delve into common issues with using Revit software and the Autodesk Desktop Connector with BIM 360 and discuss how to mitigate those issues. We’ll also cover some unique ways of utilizing BIM 360 Document Management and BIM 360 Design Collaboration for internal uses such as Revit Content Management.

This class will explore how and why Holder Construction has standardized construction coordination around BIM 360 Glue software. The discussion will cover processes around BIM 360 Glue software, advantages provided by the BIM 360 platform, and challenges faced in the implementation process. Content will cover case studies demonstrating the use of BIM 360 Glue software on projects ranging from small office buildouts to large-scale projects, including airports and National Football League stadiums. This class will outline best practices and workflows using BIM 360 next-generation software for snagging and inspection on-site and BIM 360 classic software for model-based equipment tracking (Caverion Pilot project case study). We will see BIM 360 Document Management from service to common data environment; BIM 360 Field Management for snagging and inspection; the BIM 360 app providing one app for all the services; BIM 360 Glue software to define model-based equipment to be tracked; and BIM 360 Field software to perform equipment status tracking with a mobile device and schedule report.

This class will cover 2 separate workflows uploading data to BIM 360 Ops software. Attendees will get an in-depth look at the process UCHealth employed to upload data to BIM 360 Ops directly from Revit software for the Greeley hospital project, and through BIM 360 Glue software and BIM 360 Field software for the Highlands Ranch Hospital project. As the title of this session indicates, we will share lessons learned. Attendees will get an overview of the team structure and data flow, as well as a deeper dive into how to overcome the challenges the UCHealth team encountered, such as parameter concatenation, data revision, and uploading of information changes. This course will be a combination of Microsoft PowerPoint and live demonstration, and will include Revit, BIM 360 Ops, Dynamo, BIM 360 Glue, and BIM 360 Field.

This presentation will focus on the lifecycle management of the UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital, from design through facility maintenance (FM) and operations, by using Building Information Modeling (BIM) deliverables, and using the integration among various compatible Autodesk programs, processes, and workflows. This class will be a case study of the solutions used to fabricate and construct a $110 million, 220,000-square-foot hospital in 14 months, as well as a live demonstration of the programs that support interoperability (Revit software, Navisworks software, BIM 360 Field software, BIM 360 Glue software, BIM 360 Ops software, and ARCHIBUS). Although the integration of these programs provided tremendous benefits to the construction team, facility managers, and owners through Lifecycle BIM and Quick Response (QR) Codes, there were still challenges to overcome. Attendees will gain experience through applying lessons learned, tracking accountability with complex systems and distributed software programs, and exploring how collaboration was vital to the project's success.
