    Description

Blending data types improves visibility into all aspects of the project outside of the model attributes. Grounding the model into the coordinates enables access for stakeholders, which particularly benefits the client. In the design phase, the interface of building information modeling (BIM) and geographic information system (GIS) data allows all disciplines to review the most current design proposals outside of more traditional methods. Civil, planning, environmental, site investigation, and ecology can visualize the impacts from multiple disciplines, which improves the decisions involving the final design. Publishing BIM data into GIS dynamically integrates BIM content and removes any manual handling and exchange of data. The process reduces the requirement of an additional resource for the project, and saves up to 70% efficiency across project collaboration.

    Key Learnings

    • Learn how to dynamically integrate BIM with GIS.
    • Learn about visibility of design data and project constraints improving stakeholder decision making.
    • Learn about collaboration across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
    • Learn about automating publishing data and improving project efficiency.
