    Description

Blending data types improved visibility to all aspects of the project outside of the model attributes. Grounding the model into the coordinates enables access for stakeholders, which particularly benefited the client. In the design phase, the interface of BIM / GIS data allowed all disciplines to review the most current design proposals, outside of the more traditional method. Civil, planning, environmental, site investigation, ecology could visualize the impacts from multiple disciplines which improved the decisions of the final design. Publishing BIM data into GIS dynamically integrated BIM content and removed any manually handling and exchanging of data. The process reduced the requirement of an additional resource for the project and saved up to 70% efficiency across project collaboration.

    Key Learnings

    • Dynamically Integrate BIM with GIS
    • Visibility of design data and project constraints, improving stakeholder decision making
    • Collaboration across multiple disciplines and stakeholders
    • Automate publishing data and improving project efficiency
