This class will present a new approach to the structural analysis and design workflow. Utilizing Structural Analysis for Revit software and the Dynamo extension in collaboration with third-party software, an automated workflow will be achieved between conceptual model, analysis, and design. The class will show the ability to connect innovative 3D modeling data with traditional calculation methods. By using Revit software as a modeling platform and the Dynamo extension as a data extraction and export tool, this streamlined workflow can revolutionize the current approach to analysis and design. The proposed workflow can be standardized to each user’s preference and used repeatedly across multiple projects. Specific project needs can be included seamlessly into the workflow. The class will explore this workflow as it has been used for a structural seismic retrofit project located at NASA’s (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) Ames Research Center in Moffett Federal Airfield in California. At Autodesk, we realize that our customers need to automate their processes and use their existing investments in our desktop products to bring their processes to the cloud for collaboration and automation at scale. In this class, we’ll cover all of the basics in the Design Automation for Inventor Forge service. We’ll walk through an example of an Inventor add-in and iLogic, turning this into a Design Automation AppBundle, and go through all of the steps necessary to go from the desktop to Forge. This will include code samples, as well as a working end-to-end example of both desktop code and Design Automation code. Autodesk introduced structural simulation-based generative design technology this year. Autodesk is working on generative design technology for fluids-based simulation. This will be a roundtable to discuss the future of generative design based on fluids simulation. Example use cases will be generation of flow profiles for header systems, the flow path within flow control devices, or generation of different novel heat sink designs. Bayer is creating—together with its partners—a virtual environment to enable training on packaging lines in virtual reality (VR). The goal is to efficiently deal with existing production issues to prevent bigger mistakes or even production downtime. The benefits of VR are that trainees don’t have to enter production areas (clean rooms), can make mistakes without any impact on production, and are never at risk.

"ConTech startups face unique problems. Some solutions can be proven by a single user in an afternoon. These are easily adopted. However, the largest opportunities for tangible change aren't as simple to prove out. These big problems (opportunities) persist for the same three reasons: 1. The class presents cost management strategy using web based system that includes Forge. In the system, we focused to analyze legacy project data interactively for on-going project with Machine Learning Algorithm In an attempt of 5D BIM. It supports decision-making of cost control at the initial design stage when Revit model don't have detail object for estimation. By improving quality of cost estimate in initial design stage, it is easy to manage the cost within target budget through project. We will focus on as billow; a. How to get past project data interactively through WebAPI of internal system. b. How to get and share on-going project data with "Data management API " and "Viewer" of Forge. c. Data analysis techniques for cost estimation of on-going project using "scikit-learn" that is machine learning library in Python. d. Data cycle system to improve quality of analysis, constantly. This session will explore the above technique as it has been used for actual building projects.

Managing construction progress and safety is a visual process. How could Skanska leverage advances in artificial intelligence to save time and reduce jobsite risk on top of Autodesk’s BIM 360 platform? Skanska worked with Autodesk partner Smartvid.io to apply two kinds of machine learning to the challenges of progress documentation and Safety Risk reduction. Automated statistics were generated based on the detection of these risk factors in photos from Autodesk BIM 360 and used to benchmark project risks over time. For progress tracking, machine learning was used to analyze narrated jobsite walks and automatically generate searchable progress documentation. Photos from BIM 360 were indexed automatically, eliminating time spent on finding relevant photos and improving jobsite risk analysis. Managers could use search and collaboration features to find photos and videos by relevant tags, and share dynamic links to access them with both internal and external team members.
