Archsign implement BIM to retain the high quality of documentation

Customer challenge

A very successful architectural studio specialising in single & multi residential, and industrial developments, Archsign could see the benefits of BIM for their design and documentation delivery. With very exacting standards for design and documentation, they know that high quality documentation delivered quickly and efficiently is critical for client satisfaction and business success. A major concern for Archsign was the downtime and loss of productivity they expected during and after the implantation of BIM.

Project goals

Archsign wanted to retain the high quality of documentation already in place. They wanted to transition as smoothly as possible so as to minimise disruption to project delivery.

Solution

Viewlistic used the information and standards gathered during the Discovery session to develop a bespoke Autodesk Revit Template, and Revit Content for use in standard project delivery. In the Template, they included complex area analysis processes and schedules to simplify reporting of development summary’s and specialist deliverables. Upon completion of the Revit Template, content and supporting files, Viewlistic delivered training tailored to Archsign’s specific workflows and deliverables, with a focus on Town Planning (Design Application) packages. Viewlistic used a recent Archsign project for the training, so that the staff being trained can focus on learning the software. The staff were trained using the Template and components that they would go on to use after the training. Viewlistic continued to support Archsign after the training, assisting from set up, and meeting regularly with the team to review the template, content and provide training.

Business outcome

While Archsign’s Management and Directors expected longer turnaround of projects in the implementation, Viewlistic’s process resulted in no loss of time, and in some cases, project turnaround improved, right from the start, resulting in greater profit and capacity to deliver projects.

Conclusion

Archsign are extremely happy with Viewlistic’s processes, and the ongoing support provided to ensure the successful implementation of Revit. Viewlistic continue to work with us to expand our Revit team and our BIM capabilities.

Revit Implementation and Management

Prior to using Viewlistic, Enzo Caroscio Architecture was operating as an Autocad office, documenting in 2D and using Sketchup to create 3D models. We realised that this was becoming quite time consuming given the fast pace of the industry. Not only that, but our clients and consultants were also seeking greater collaboration through software integration.
