Success Story

Detail Studio Transition to BIM

Detail Studio Transition to BIM

Customer challenge

A very successful architectural studio with a diverse portfolio across educational, commercial, health, retail and residential sectors, Detail Studio felt it was time to harness the power of BIM to further enhance their collaborative ethos. With very exacting standards of design, they know that high quality documentation is critical for a successful built outcome that wholly reflects the design intent. With the growing complexity of projects, they could see that Revit was the right tool for a s

Project goals

Detail Studio wanted to retain the high quality of documentation already in place. Maintain the successful workflows from schematic design through to the final building. Accommodate the growing need for collaboration with all stakeholders with common tools. To put systems in place that would help manage change and maintain fully coordinated documents. They wanted to transition as smoothly as possible so as not to risk disruption to existing projects.

Solution

After an initial discovery session, Viewlistic were supplied with a current set of final architectural documents from Detail Studio. From these documents we were able to scope up Revit Family content and a bespoke Revit Template. We then created a training agenda that was based on a Detail Studio existing project and the new bespoke Revit content. To help transition smoothly to Autodesk Revit we recommended starting with a small team of keen participants.

Business outcome

It is still early days but the team are going really well and are seeing the benefits aligned with the Projects Goals.

Conclusion

"Viewlistic’s overall approach, guidance and careful management of the transition process and training was excellent and it certainly made our teams experience very easy whilst also being very detailed. Their post-training support and advocacy has been invaluable and continues to be an important ongoing training tool to allow our studio to continue our upskilling and growth." Bruce Henderson Architects – Family Creation

Established in 1977 and with over 2000 projects to their name, Bruce Henderson Architects is a leading and respected studio, with a passionate and enthusiastic team who continually delivers outstanding results. They had been awarded a large high end residential tower project with very bespoke interiors. The project timeline was extremely tight and so Bruce Henderson Architects reached out to Viewlistic for advice on the best way to create and streamline the Autodesk Revit Family content to help meet the tight deadline.

Revit Implementation and Management

Prior to using Viewlistic, Enzo Caroscio Architecture was operating as an Autocad office, documenting in 2D and using Sketchup to create 3D models. We realised that this was becoming quite time consuming given the fast pace of the industry. Not only that, but our clients and consultants were also seeking greater collaboration through software integration.
