QUICK TIP: Selection Tricks

Did you know that your Fusion 360 selections will change depending on the way you encompass an area? If you go from left to right, you’ll get something different than if you go from right to left (or counterclockwise/clockwise when using ‘freeform’ select). I’m not sure where or when this started, but it’s one of those things that if you don’t know it exists, you simply don’t know. So when I overheard someone at AU voice a bit of frustration when this was taught to them, I knew I needed to get the word out.

 

In the example below, you’ll learn the differences between selection directions, and a couple other tricks that should help too!

 

 

As you can see, using these techniques can make things like direct editing even easier, but they certainly aren’t limited to this part of design! For easy reference, I pulled the main graphic used in the video:
