ATL Technology, a global medical device engineering and manufacturing partner, scaled its operations and improved collaboration, data centralization, and manufacturing readiness by implementing Autodesk’s cloud PLM solution Fusion Manage.
Elevate your design and manufacturing processes with Autodesk Fusion
Headquartered in Utah and with manufacturing facilities in Costa Rica, UK, and China, ATL Technology works with the world’s leading medical device companies to deliver comprehensive solutions, from early-stage design and development through prototyping, testing, regulatory compliance, and full-scale manufacturing. Their expertise spans a range of advanced medical technologies, including patient monitoring systems and wearable medical devices; minimally invasive, camera-based medical systems; and more.
“We partner with medical OEMs to bring medical devices to market and to change and save people’s lives,” says Roger Solano, Global Engineering Director, ATL Technology.
But, as the company expanded, they also began to face challenges scaling and keeping pace.
“We were outgrowing all of our systems,” Solano says. “Our tools were not consistent. We had different levels of maturity, so we needed to implement something global in nature and that we could continue to scale.”
To address these barriers, ATL adopted Autodesk’s cloud PLM solution, Fusion Manage, for a unified, cloud-based environment that centralized product data, increased collaboration, and standardized processes across all locations.
Globalized data, seamless collaboration
One of the most significant outcomes of implementing Fusion Manage has been the globalization and accessibility of ATL’s data. Teams across engineering, operations, and manufacturing now work within a cloud-based, unified platform.
“All our teams are working in the same database in a cloud environment,” Solano says. “This has increased significantly our collaboration with operations and manufacturing facilities. Now we’re producing a product and design ready for manufacturing.”
The implementation of Fusion Manage also enabled ATL to automate the transfer of Bill of Materials (BOM) data into its ERP system. This automation has delivered significant time savings and has reshaped engineers’ workflows and mindset.
A strategic partnership for long-term success
ATL’s successful transformation also came down to partnership. “Autodesk walked beside us from the moment we started our journey,” Solano says. “From selecting the right tool for our business all the way through development and user story creations until the implementation and go-live.”
Today, ATL sees Fusion Manage as a critical enabler of its continued growth and operational excellence.
“I would recommend Autodesk Cloud PLM to any organization looking to improve their business systems, globalize their footprint, and centralize their data management,” Solano says. “It’s a great tool for anyone looking to uplift their business and take it to the next level.”
