Q: I received an email or letter about using software licenses that are not valid. Why did I receive this communication?
Q: What do I do if I received an email about using software licenses that are not valid?
A: You may either subscribe to genuine Autodesk software or contact Autodesk for more information. Please follow the instructions in the email to avoid further action.
Q: I believe my software license is genuine. Can I dispute Autodesk’s findings?
Q. How could this have happened?
A. Unfortunately, it’s relatively easy to acquire nonvalid serial numbers. Unauthorized sellers often pose as authorized resellers and sell nonvalid software at deep discounts. Other sellers bundle nonvalid software with computer hardware. Sometimes, software downloads are even offered for free. Using nonvalid software exposes businesses and consumers to security threats including malware, spyware and viruses, and can lead to decreased efficiencies in organizations. Always buy Autodesk software either direct from Autodesk.com or from an Autodesk Authorized Reseller.
Q: In the email I received regarding an Autodesk Software License Review there was a link to purchase via the Autodesk Store. I would prefer to purchase via a reseller, will that resolve this matter?
A: Purchasing from an Autodesk Authorized Reseller will resolve this matter. Once the purchase has been completed please provide Autodesk with the serial numbers of your new subscription(s) at the address provided in the email you received.
