Using generative AI from the conceptual phase, the project exemplifies the integration of AI into industrial design processes to create innovative solutions for specific functional requirements. Generative AI facilitated extensive ideation, producing more than 2,000 design ideas—which led to a distinctive, practical vehicle design with high visibility and load-bearing features. In parallel, the project incorporated blockchain technology to manage and safeguard design data, intellectual property, and design contracts, demonstrating an advanced approach to maintaining data integrity and authenticity in the manufacturing industry. The project highlights the capabilities of generative AI and blockchain in design and manufacturing. It addresses the complexities of design process, data, and intellectual property in the era of AI-driven creation.

In this class, we go through the process of completing an Inventor software model ready for use by an MEP engineer, including preparing ducting and pipework on a skid from an Inventor model. We cover detail model simplification and preparation, as well as the various export options to Revit MEP, including parametric versus nonparametric and ways to protect user intellectual property.

Inventor software has the functionality to export assemblies and parts for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing connections directly into Revit software. This class will focus on the dynamics and logistics between the two programs. You’ll learn best practices for creating Inventor architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) equipment and exporting it effectively to Revit programs, and how to best maximize their design intent.

Overbearing Inventor model makin’ it so hard for me. This class will teach you how to use View Representations in Inventor assemblies. Representations control the visibility and several other characteristics of components within assemblies. Representations let you save specific views of your assembly to prepare for presentations and create drawings. Proper use of Representations will significantly improve your system’s performance when dealing with large, complex assemblies.

AutoCAD software has been the target of hacker attacks for industrial espionage. Many of these hackers have been primarily driven to steal intellectual property. There are a number of steps that the AutoCAD Security Team have implemented to enhance the security in AutoCAD 2016 software. This class will cover the topic of securing your AutoCAD software plug-ins. We will examine digital signatures and cryptographic algorithms, including public key infrastructure (PKI). Learn how to get certificates, creating your own self-signed certificates. You will also learn how to sign your executable including LISP files using your certificate and deploy them. And finally, you will learn the best practices when loading plug-ins.

Over the last decade or so, software developers have amassed a significant amount of intellectual property harnessing AutoCAD software's .NET API. AutoCAD I/O enables standard AutoCAD software commands, as well as those implemented in .NET, to be executed in the cloud, generating results that you can integrate into your own business-to-business or business-to-customer website. This class will take a concrete example of a .NET application creating custom jigsaw puzzles inside AutoCAD software. During the class we will show how to move the core implementation to AutoCAD I/O via the Core Console, and then make use of this to power a new business-to-customer website. Potential customers will be able to specify custom designs for jigsaw puzzles and visualize the results before finalizing their orders.
