Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) is the gold standard for planning and executing capital construction projects and has been proven to deliver superior results in safety, schedule, and budget. This discussion involves a case study of how an EPC provider, APTIM, implemented AWP practices, selected software packages to support workflows, and leveraged internal stakeholders to drive adoption. The pace of key workflows such as workface planning and creation of installation work packages was immediately accelerated by the use of a platform of point solutions which includes iConstruct and BIM 360 for work packaging and the use of PlanGrid to visualize the work packages and drawings in the field. The involvement of stakeholders such as middle management and project foremen is highlighted as a key success factor. The combination of process, software, and motivated project staff resulted in a 50% improvement in the “time on tools” as measured by an independent audit conducted by ConstructX.

BIM 360 Design Collaboration: Everything You Need to Know

This class will focus on everything you need to know to effectively implement and execute BIM 360 Design Collaboration on your projects. A lot has changed since the first generation of Collaboration for Revit and BIM 360 Team environment; this class will explain it all. You will learn how to create a new project within the BIM 360 Docs environment, set folder permissions, and integrate Revit workshared models into the project. The class will take a deep dive into the Design Collaboration module where administrators have complete control over model access, folder permissions by company, and model publishing visibility. The class will also present a project use case highlighting the benefits of utilizing BIM 360 Design in a design/assist project with many stakeholders involved, proving to be a highly effective collaborative design environment.

Integrating Project Delivery

This industry talk will focus on a new perspective on integrated project delivery (IPD) of sustainable, high-performing buildings. They can only be achieved through a building with integrated building systems, which can only be produced through an integrated process. An integrated process depends on the right people and an integrated team, which needs integrated information—that is, BIM+—to function effectively and efficiently. Simulation and visualization are the primary ways in which BIM+ informs the integrated team. Collaboration and colocation are the primary ways that enable the integrated team to integrate processes. Production management methods enable the productive design, fabrication, and construction of the integrated building system. Outcome metrics define the performance of the building and validate the integrated building system. All of this is supported by the appropriate agreement or framework. Giant Steps: Advances in Seamless BIM, CAD, and GIS Integration

Learn from the product managers how the Autodesk and Esri partnership is advancing design and geographic information system (GIS) collaboration that benefits the architecture, engineering, construction, and owner/operators industry. The intersection of building information modeling (BIM), CAD, and GIS provides incredible insights to enhance project delivery at every level. Digital Transformation for Multisite Owners

Multisite owners have unique challenges. These companies must view digital transformation and valuable technical opportunities through the lens of scalability, standardization, and repeatability. Implementing BIM 360 Docs to Support the New ISO 19650 Series of Standards Using BIM

The ISO 19650 series contains the latest industry standards and best practices for the management and collaborative production of information using Building Information Modeling (BIM) applying a shared repository, known as a common data environment (CDE). Enabling technologies are needed to achieve the functional and nonfunctional requirements of a CDE and support the activities within the information management process. To ensure Autodesk customers have the technology they need, Autodesk engaged a leading authority on information management when using BIM and the author of ISO 19650-2 to assess BIM 360 Docs software. The outcomes of the review included product enhancements and a recommended configuration to support the adoption of the ISO 19650 series. This class will cover the outcomes of the review process and provide an introduction to the ISO 19650 family of standards with a road map of future developments.

Pharma Industry: Why BIM Can Become a Digital Transformation Cornerstone

Building information modeling (BIM) processes with federated 3D models and centralized common data environments (CDEs) are well-accepted norms in project delivery. Yet, the benefits derived from this digitalization favor the engineering companies over the manufacturing owner. Moreover, the owner's transformation focus is mostly on digitizing highly regulated drug releases and manufacturing performance. Converging these two digital approaches is not often seen as a priority. Yet, it may be a foundational step toward a successful digital transformation for businesses and their people. We’ll make the case for data convergence between digital assets (descriptive digital twins) and manufacturing data and analytics to solve business problems, like accessing the right information and documentation without time loss. We’ll share how the human-centered approach made visible the foundational benefit of BIM by linking objects to information using BIM 360 (collaborate) and data fusion technologies, and which KPIs can demonstrate value.
