BIM 360 Design Collaboration NextGen at Arcadis

In this class, we will share our experience with the rollout of C4R NextGen and BIM 360 Team Collaboration on projects all around the globe. These new tools helped Arcadis to work more efficiently with their internal and external teams and bring collaboration to the next level. The implementation of C4R NextGen and Team Collaboration are a next step in the "From 12 to many" project. The "lighthouse" projects will be extended with the new technologies and will be a standard for all projects in the region. Autodesk will help Arcadis to develop a standard, connected to and integrated with the current BIM 360 workflows.

Digital Transformation for AWP

Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) is the gold standard for planning and executing capital construction projects and has been proven to deliver superior results in safety, schedule, and budget. This discussion involves a case study of how an EPC provider, APTIM, implemented AWP practices, selected software packages to support workflows, and leveraged internal stakeholders to drive adoption. The pace of key workflows such as workface planning and creation of installation work packages was immediately accelerated by the use of a platform of point solutions which includes iConstruct and BIM 360 for work packaging and the use of PlanGrid to visualize the work packages and drawings in the field. The involvement of stakeholders such as middle management and project foremen is highlighted as a key success factor. The combination of process, software, and motivated project staff resulted in a 50% improvement in the “time on tools” as measured by an independent audit conducted by ConstructX.

Become a Fusion Simulation Expert in 60 Minutes

Fusion Simulation software offers a rich set of analysis types to simulate real-world problems. Whether it’s simple static stress, optimizing a shape to reduce weight, or simulating a bird hitting an airplane, it’s all there. One of the biggest challenges is to set up the simulation properly so the results are reasonable. Interpretation of results to selecting the best alternative for manufacturing is another challenge. While demystifying simulation with tips and tricks from community forums, we will also highlight the pitfalls one needs to avoid. Collaboration and knowledge sharing is key to mastering simulation tools.

In this session, we’ll explore how using best practices, standardized designs, and BIM (Building Information Modeling) technologies can move modular design and manufacturing to the point where automation makes sense.
