The Journey Toward Managing a Fleet of 60,000 Modules Across a Continent

Adapteo is a pan-European company within the modular space industry. We provide Space as a Service (SaaS) to public and private customers. With our 20+ module series designed for specific purposes and building regulations, along with our fleet’s age, we have a product management complexity like no other. We've been working on implementing BIM practices using Revit software and Autodesk Construction Cloud. Due to continuous reuse of our modules, our current fleet that we need to keep track of is 30+ years old. We've designed a solution wherein we keep our module libraries in Revit files stored in Autodesk Construction Cloud, coupled with a process that lets us design new projects in minutes. Together with our accessories in Content Catalog, we manage a large data set of 3D objects connected to our ERP. Almost everything we design in Revit is known, and thus the output from the design phase is directly actionable data to our operations. Our vision is to lifecycle each of our approximately 60,000 modules as individual Revit files—in other words, Digital Prototypings.
