Michelle Rasmussen started in the United States Air Force working in the Civil Engineering unit as a surveyor, designer, and construction manager. Her primary responsibilities were to enforce proper grading of missile sites and tracking of base infrastructure. She has worked for both municipalities and consulting engineering firms as an engineering / geographic information systems (GIS) technician, where she completed transportation studies and environmental-impact studies, and she drafted subdivision and site plans. She is currently an author for the Rand Worldwide company, ASCENT-Center for Technical Knowledge, where she writes books for Autodesk, Inc., infrastructure software products.
