Elevate your design and manufacturing processes with Autodesk Fusion
For more than two centuries, Wienerberger has helped shape the built world as a leading construction materials supplier. Founded in 1819 and headquartered in Vienna, Austria, the company is the world’s largest producer of bricks and a market leader in clay roof tiles and pipe systems across Europe, as well as concrete pavers in Central and Eastern Europe. Wienerberger operates over 200 production sites in 28 countries and employs more than 20,000 people worldwide.
But the company faced obstacles furthering their innovation along with streamlining production. To tackle these challenges, they turned to the Autodesk cloud PLM solution Fusion Manage to build a future-ready, connected product development ecosystem to harmonize teams, improve quality control, and bring transparency from design to commercial delivery and beyond.
Collaboration increases innovation opportunities
With many individual product managers and teams working across the organization, Wienerberger experienced growing collaboration challenges that hindered product development. Fusion Manage helped bridge these gaps, unlocking new opportunities for innovation.
“Autodesk cloud PLM has massively improved innovation and how we bring new products to market,” says Claire Maguire, Digital Project Manager, Wienerberger. “We’ve managed to increase our ideas to feasibility rates by over 10%.”
“We’ve transitioned from a very siloed working environment where teams work within themselves and collaborations quite few and far between,” adds Oliver Buxton, Digital Project Manager, Wienerberger. “The introduction of the cloud PLM system from Autodesk has allowed us to break those barriers and increase collaboration.”
“Our product information management accuracy has improved by 75%.”

Less change orders, more productivity
Fusion Manage has transformed Wienerberger’s manufacturing processes, especially for change requests and change orders. Now, the company can get information straight from the factory line through to end commercial assets with greater accuracy. Quality assurance has also increased significantly.
“We’ve noticed with the employment of the quality and change modules that we can locate the source of quality issues a lot quicker, and that change process is now much more streamlined,” Buxton says. “It’s really reduced the time that we take to correct those changes and then communicate those changes out to not only our customers, but the rest of our business as well.”
A trusted partnership
For Wienerberger, technology is only part of the story. The partnership with Autodesk has played a key role in their success.
“Autodesk is a trusted partner because they’re always on hand with technical expertise,” Maguire says. “I would recommend Autodesk cloud PLM to anyone looking to improve collaboration, communication, and transparency of information.”
