InfoWorks WS Pro 2027.1: Richer mapping, smarter support, better workflows

Trevor English Trevor English July 7, 2026

InoWorks WS Pro 2027.1 brings seamless access to Esri basemaps through the ArcGIS Maps Map Control, introduces Autodesk Assistant as a Technical Preview within InfoWorks WS Pro, and includes a range of usability improvements designed to help modelers work more efficiently.

Together, these enhancements make it easier to build, analyze, and communicate water network models with greater confidence.

Add real-world context with Esri Basemaps

Understanding a water network is about more than pipes and assets, it’s about how infrastructure interacts with the surrounding environment.

With InfoWorks WS Pro 2027.1, Esri basemaps are now automatically available for models using a coordinate system when working with the ArcGIS Maps Map Control. This enhancement gives modelers immediate access to high-quality mapping that provides valuable geographic context throughout the modeling process.

Whether you’re validating network layouts, planning improvements, or presenting designs to stakeholders, having rich basemap imagery available directly within your model helps bring projects to life and supports more informed decision-making.

The new Basemap control, conveniently located in the Tools toolbar, allows users to quickly switch between available Esri basemaps and adjust transparency, making it easy to tailor the view for different modeling and presentation needs.

This functionality is available when signed in with an ArcGIS account and builds on our ongoing integration with the ArcGIS ecosystem to deliver a more connected modeling experience.

Get help when you need it with Autodesk Assistant

We’re also excited to introduce Autodesk Assistant to InfoWorks WS Pro as a Technical Preview.

Autodesk Assistant provides in-product access to guidance based on the latest InfoWorks WS Pro Help documentation and knowledge articles, enabling users to find answers faster without leaving the application. Whether you’re exploring new functionality, looking for clarification on a workflow, or troubleshooting an issue, Autodesk Assistant is available to help keep your work moving.

For experienced users, Autodesk Assistant can also assist with interpreting SQL queries, Ruby scripts, and UPC scripts by drawing on its understanding of product documentation. If a script generates an error, simply copy the error message into the Assistant to receive contextual guidance and troubleshooting suggestions.

While this initial Technical Preview is not yet specialized for code generation, like what was rolled out in InfoWater Pro earlier this year, it represents an important step toward bringing intelligent, in-product assistance directly into the modeling experience.

We’re excited to continue evolving Autodesk Assistant with future releases based on customer feedback and emerging capabilities.

A new Home page to help you get started

InfoWorks WS Pro now welcomes users with a redesigned home page that provides quick access to helpful resources, recent activity, and learning materials.

The home page also introduces a new downloadable sample dataset featuring a variety of run types and practical examples, making it easier for both new and experienced users to explore workflows, experiment with capabilities, and get up to speed faster.

Whether you’re opening the application for the first time or returning to an existing project, the new Home page helps put useful information at your fingertips.

Improved Task Sequence management

This release also delivers enhancements to the Task Sequence tool, making it easier to organize and automate modeling workflows.

Tasks can now include automated comments, providing better visibility into processing and execution, while a new Status column clearly indicates whether each task is ready to run. These improvements make complex workflows easier to manage and help users identify issues before launching long-running processes.

The result is a smoother, more transparent automation experience that supports efficient project delivery.
