This will be a hands-on introduction to the world of fabrication with Revit MEP software. Familiarize yourself with the fabrication possibilities introduced in Revit MEP 2016 software, such as how to manage and create fabrication content. We will also take a look into possible Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows for fabricators.

We will cover how to set up plug-ins for each of the various products—Fabrication CADmep software, Fabrication CAMduct software, and Fabrication ESTmep software. Learn how to load them in and execute the code. Also, discover some of what you can and cannot do, and ways to work in scripting and LISP to fill in the gaps where necessary. Knowledge of the Fabrication software products would be helpful, as well as prior knowledge of the Fabrication scripting language. This class will be a continuation of the Fabrication Advanced Scripting Class, but attending that class will not be strictly necessary for this one.

In this session, we will discuss converting generic Revit software parts into Fabrication Parts, or Design to Fabrication. We will cover setting up services and service templates in the Fabrication software products to get the best results inside of Revit software. This class will focus on the importance of Design Line setup to make the Design to Fabrication process most effective. This session features Fabrication CADmep and Fabrication ESTmep.

You will leave this class knowing how to set up your own company's spool template, how to create a bill of materials for the spools, how to set up an autopopulated title block, and best methods on spooling with Fabrication software.

Hit some limits in scripting? Need to be able to do some more advanced calculations on the information in the Fabrication products? This class will help you with some more advanced scripting techniques including hybrid scripting that utilizes other frameworks like autolisp, .net, and the command prompt to do more with the data in the Fabrication products. Knowledge of the Fabrication products is helpful as well as prior knowledge of the fabrication scripting language. 

This will be a run through of the Fabrication software API, features, examples, uses, hints and tips, and new features for 2017.

We'll look at the continuation of project workflow when converting the design model to a fabrication model.
