Configurator 360, a new software as a service (SaaS) offering, makes it absurdly easy to publish configurable models to an online catalog. Your sales teams, distributors, and customers can then configure, visualize, and request a quote for a product through a web browser or a mobile device. This class provides an overview of the steps required to publish catalogs and illustrates the process with some examples.

In this class, attendees will be shown a real project. It is a setting where the manufacturer is selling their products from their website to the end customer. The items are all configurable and their dimensions change per customer. Previously the inputs were taken from the customer from the website or via email and then they would be drawn accordingly. This project starts from embedding Configurator 360 to the manufacturer website. We program the manufacturer models so that the customers can generate 3D models from their web browsers, get a quote within minutes, and order. This ensures the manufacturer getting enough information for the models. When the order is taken, the embedding API C360 sends the necessary data to Inventor and all the laser cut drawings for the particular model is generated. So there are a couple of solutions of what this project has, one of which is to give the customer instant quote for a custom-made product, the other is the remove unnecessary work done talking back to the customer to let them understand if they are buying the right product, and lastly to remove a good amount of time for redrawing times which actually is a non-value added process, making all this project a lean one.

Many companies already have configurators that take user input and provide product details (and sometimes even give a price and a basic drawing). With the Configurator 360 cloud-based service, you can offer your customers a real-time environment where they can manipulate models of what they are ordering and produce a variety of supporting materials in many formats. In this class we'll learn how to combine Inventor software model configuration using Inventor iLogic software or Inventor Engineer-to-Order software with tools for linking your configurator's output to the Configurator 360 service. We'll also look at the Autodesk Inventor Engineer-to-Order Server tools that can be used to directly provide models and other outputs directly back to the customer.

This class will give an overview of the inventive wheel-selling Solution for Trelleborg AB called TWS ETO application.
