This class will cover the use of design models, conceptual models, and inventive technology during the preconstruction phase of a project. We will discuss how to utilize a wide variety of Autodesk, Inc., software such as Revit software, Navisworks software, and ReCap software, rendering several different types of deliverables. Topics include using laser scanning and model-based scope clarifications, quantity extraction, value analysis, options analysis, and phasing exhibits. Alex Edgar received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in construction management from the University of Florida, and he has been working in the industry for over 10 years. As an engineer in Holder Construction's Building Information Modeling (BIM) Services Group, Alex is responsible for BIM activities throughout the lifecycle of a construction project, including business development, preconstruction, and construction operations, and transitioning to facilities management. Alex has extensive experience with many project types, including data center, aviation, higher education, and corporate office projects.
