Improving Autodesk Automation, Integration & Workflows for A Global Packaging Supplier

Improving Autodesk Automation, Integration & Workflows for A Global Packaging Supplier

Customer challenge

Based in Sydney, TNA Solutions (www.tnasolutions.com) is a leading global supplier of cutting edge technology for food processing, conveying, seasoning, weighing & packaging industry. With over 14,000 systems installed across more than 120 countries, the company continues to grow its footprint and has nearly 1000 employees as of 2023.

TNA Solutions had recently lost a full-time manager who was responsible for the development of all Autodesk design automations within the company.

Project goals

With a critical gap in its internal resourcing, TNA Solutions needed a highly skilled and experienced Autodesk Partner to ensure all Autodesk software was up to date and compatible with each new version of its respective Autodesk products.

Modern CAD undertook a rapid consultation and delivery process for their project, working closely with the company's engineering and design teams.

Solution

Modern CAD undertook a careful analysis of the existing Autodesk software packages, functionality and their connectivity with each other, plus all of the other apps in the company's ecosystem.

  • Modern CAD then updated and tested of all the Autodesk products across the company to ensure users were up to date and design automation workflows were working with new software versions.
  • Modern CAD also identified an opportunity to enable the use of the Inventor server on the Autodesk Vault Job Processes, instead of the full scale Inventor solution.
  • They also updated plug-ins and functionality for Autodesk Vault Professional, Autodesk Inventor Professional, AutoCAD and Revit.

Business outcome

Modern CAD's consultation and service delivery helped solve the challenges left by the departure of an employee who was responsible for the company’s Autodesk automation development.

  • This significantly enhanced design workflows and improved product delivery accuracy and lifecycles.
  • It eliminated the need to hold 4 separate Inventor subscriptions which were used for background automation tasks.
  • Switching the technology to a free API with Vault license provided a huge cost saving with 4 less Autodesk subscriptions.

The company now has the confidence to use the new custom Autodesk workflows and functionality after rigorous training, testing, analysis and refinement.

Conclusion

Modern CAD completed the project in 2 weeks (June, 2023) and in a very cost effective manner, with zero disruption to the day-to-day business operations of TNA Solutions.

Modern CAD continues to provide on-demand Autodesk services to TNA, helping the design and engineering teams improve their workflows and better deliver solutions to their global base of customers.
