InfoAsset Manager 2021.8 now offers support for the New Zealand Water and Wastes Association 4th Edition of the New Zealand Gravity Pipe Inspection Manual Conduit Inspection Reporting Code.

This extends support to the existing 3rd Edition legacy version of the standard. The revision to the 3rd Edition was identified in the report prepared for the Evidence Based Investment Decision Making for 3 Waters Pipe Network Programme, a joint initiative between WaterNZ, IPWEA, University of Canterbury Quake Centre titled “Recommendations for the Revision of the New Zealand Pipe Inspection Manual, December 2016” by ProjectMax.

The 4th Edition makes comprehensive changes, particularly to the defect/feature classifications and grading systems, bringing it more into alignment to other international classification standards such as WSA05, EN 13508-2:2003 and MSCC5, which are also supported in InfoAsset Manager.

This release further demonstrates our commitment to support national and international pipeline and manhole condition standards found worldwide. These include North American NASSCO PACP, United Kingdom MSCC 4/5, European Union EN13508-2:2003 and 2004, WSA05, Germany ISYBAU and Benelux RibX, BEFDSS and SUFRIB.

As infrastructure ages and the discipline of asset management evolves in line with technology advancement, our condition assessment standards and the software that enables application of the standards must keep up. InfoAsset is now ready to meet the needs of practitioners in New Zealand who are adopting the 4th Edition – and still caters for conduit inspection surveys in older formats. This is fantastic news as conduit inspection surveys are the most labour intensive, complex and expensive datasets for a council or water utility to capture. Utilisation of this ever-growing dataset in a variety of projects is critical to maintaining sewer and drainage service and ultimately public safety.
