In this class, we'll explore the different aspects of this new functionality. We'll take you through the steps to correctly set up this publishing process in Vault and show you the different publish options. The PDF format of a 2D design file is used in many firms to facilitate communications among engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and other departments. We'll also teach you how to let users outside your engineering department access the PDFs for printing and other workflows. This class will show you how to use BIM 360 Docs software as your published documents portal, and how to get your approved drawings from Vault Professional software to BIM 360 Docs—where external consumers can access it through the BIM 360 Docs web portal or a mobile device. We’ll walk through configuring Vault Project Sync to publish files to BIM 360 Docs, as well as configuring BIM 360 Docs to ensure that only the right people get access to the files. We’ll also discuss the markup capabilities in BIM 360 Docs, and how to get the design team to see those markups.

In this class, we'll cover tips and tricks for publishing and scaling apps in the Autodesk App Store, as learned by the developers of the Bommer add-in for Fusion 360 software. Specifically, we'll cover preparing your app for deployment (including UX considerations), handling installation and user registration, saving and retrieving generated content (for example, files), monitoring for issues, and engaging with your user community. We'll dive deep into the Fusion 360 API to look at what's provided and what we had to build in order to deploy or add in. We'll also cover some traps we fell into while building Bommer, and how we got ourselves out of them. This class will be accessible to all skill levels of programmers and engineers/CAD managers who want to develop and publish add-ins. Some programming experience will be required to understand a few technical details, but much of the class will be understandable to nonprogrammers.

This class will demonstrate how to prepare your custom standard content for use with Inventor software’s Content Center. The Content Center can be a very useful and necessary tool for working with Frame Generator, Tube and Pipe, and Bolted Connections, among others. We will demonstrate how to author and publish pipe, pipe fittings, fasteners, structural shapes, and equipment such as pumps and heat exchangers.

A transformation of an organization's legacy engineering design systems first requires a vision. This class will discuss the vision of using Building Information Modeling (BIM) for 3D intelligent design to transform San Diego Gas & Electric's transmission and substation engineering design and construction process. The transformation includes the implementation of a number of Autodesk, Inc., Solutions in an integrated mosaic of engineering design workflows. We start with conceptual design using InfraWorks software.
