While it's common knowledge that additive manufacturing (AM) has become an integral tool in product development, it can be difficult to know how to fit AM into your workflow. In this talk, we'll discuss how to effectively use AM to accelerate product development and prepare designs to ramp up to production. We will include an overview of the common additive technologies and materials currently used by product designers, and look at the advantages and disadvantages of each from a product development perspective. Building on this overview, we'll discuss example workflows and case studies where additive manufacturing was used effectively to reduce time to market and mitigate process and design risk.
