Autodesk Civil 3D 2026.2 introduces significant enhancements to civil infrastructure workflows. These include improved drainage design and analysis tools, updates to Dynamo and Feature Lines, and the ability to export AutoCAD 3D Objects from Project Explorer. This comes in addition to new collaboration tools in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) designed for Civil 3D users.
Let’s take a deeper look at some of the updates now available.
Drainage Tools
With the release of comprehensive site drainage design and analysis workflows powered by Autodesk InfoDrainage in the Civil 3D 2026.1 update, we’ve continued to make improvements to enhance your overall experience within the Civil 3D design environment.
- General Updates: Experience improved behavior along with clearer error messages and warnings.
- Rainfall Manager: Support is now included for Intensity Duration Frequency (IDF) rainfall sets. You can enter IDF rainfall manually or import datasets from NOAA, Hydraflow, SSA, and custom (.csv) files.
- Catchments Properties: The properties tab has been enhanced with four key updates:
- The ability to create and edit flow segments and select reference surfaces to use for Flow Segment Slopes.
- Support for Rational and Modified Rational methods for runoff calculations.
- Enter time in different units that automatically convert to current display units.
- Define catchment discharge by referencing a pond or underground storage object in addition to pipe network structures.
- Channel Modeling: Extract static or dynamic feature lines from channels to create related surfaces and view channels in the 3D Model Viewer.
- Ponds and Underground Storage: New features and command settings have been added to the storage tabs in the Pond and Underground Storage properties dialog boxes, including the ability to connect pipes during pipe network layout and creation. The Pond properties now include updates to the Inflows and Outflows tab to better display information specific to connections with pipes, channels, and catchments.
- Drainage System Analysis: Enhanced workflow with automated saves, new prompts and warnings, and the improved export controls for analysis results.

Dynamo for Civil 3D
To support the comprehensive updates to drainage design and analysis tools in Civil 3D 2026.2, Dynamo now includes more than 75 new nodes. These enable you to configure and automate workflows related to stormwater control objects, such as ponds, underground storage, and channels. The release also includes Dynamo Core v3.6.1, which features an overhauled Node Autocomplete function with a new toolbar that provides suggestions for nodes with the help of Autodesk AI.

Feature Line Enhancements
For users familiar with the flexibility of working with Polylines in AutoCAD, we’ve heard your feedback for on one of the most highly requested features on our Civil Infrastructure Public Roadmap. Civil 3D 2026.2 now delivers an enhanced experience for Feature Lines.
Previously, editing Feature Lines required you to detour to the ribbon or the command line. With this update you now gain the ability to edit Feature Lines directly on the drawing canvas by hovering over them to access new grip menus. In addition to previous editing commands, you can extend Feature Lines at endpoints, convert between Feature Line segments and Arc segments, edit the elevation of Point of Intersection (PI) and Elevation Points, and more.
And we’ve backed these editing efficiencies with notable performance and stability improvements, to make working with Feature Lines faster and more reliable. You’ll be able to experience the difference firsthand when selecting and querying properties, editing elevations, editing siteless feature lines, adding a PI to arcs segments, along with importing and exporting Feature Lines to LandXML.
We hope you are as excited as we are, and we encourage you to keep sharing your ideas in the community forums.
Additional Updates for Civil 3D
- Horizontal Regression Analysis: Improved readability in dialog and validation of Alignment names.
- Project Explorer: Improves interoperability with the ability to export 3D AutoCAD object (.DWG) files in addition to 2D AutoCAD objects from the Project Explorer.
- API Enhancements: Supports updates to drainage features, including Rainfall Manager and drainage objects (catchments, channels, ponds, underground storage) available in this release.
Enhanced Cloud Collaboration Tools
With the Civil 3D 2026.2 update, several enhancements have been made to support improved infrastructure collaboration workflows for teams managing projects on Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Connected Sheet Set Manager
Experience improvements to overall performance with the legacy Sheet Set Manager, which now supports cloud sheet sets and real-time collaboration. This revised workflow offers a streamlined and efficient approach for managing sheet sets among your team. To enable the new connected Sheet Set Manager workflow in Civil 3D 2026.2, install the AutoCAD 2026.1.1 update from manage.autodesk.com.

New Design Review Tools in Model Coordination
With a recent update to Autodesk Construction Cloud, new Civil Tools have now been added to the Autodesk Model Coordination Viewer. These include:
- Alignment stationing navigation: Navigate between stations or to the beginning and end stations of an alignment.
- Perpendicular cross sections: Create a vertical cut plane perpendicular to the alignment, which dynamically updates with the current station value.
- Measure station offsets: Determine station offset measurements from a selected point in your project geometry.
These tools are in addition to previously released features such as clash detection, issues, object tables, object colors, and advanced filters.
