This class provides an overview of current initiatives in sustainability for infrastructure projects as well as specific features in AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoCAD Map 3D software that can help you reach the specific goals of those initiatives. The class focuses on real civil infrastructure and environmental project scenarios and how to use tools in Civil 3D and Map 3D to infuse innovation into design to meet project sustainability requirements. A focal point will be GIS features that are integrated with design tools.

Chuck Pietra is the senior technical applications manager at O’Brien & Gere in Syracuse, NY where he currently resides. In his current position, he manages the company’s technical software applications related to CAD/BIM, GIS, AEC, and environmental modeling data management. Chuck has been active in the Autodesk and consulting channel for over 25 years and is a former AutoCAD® Civil 3D® certified implementation expert. Chuck owned his own consulting firm, Micro CAD Managers, in central New York for 17 years. As the author of several books and numerous articles on GIS and site civil software-related topics, Chuck frequently speaks at national events such as Autodesk University. Chuck holds an MS in physics from the State University of New York.
