Description

In this hands-on lab, you discover how to create intelligent and interactive curves and surfaces with Alias industrial design software. Create your models and design alternatives quickly using the power of Alias and Autodesk® Product Design Suite. We cover the different types of curves and the design approach to use them accurately and creatively. Create better surfaces right from the start of your designs.

Key Learnings

  • Create basic and advanced curves
  • Create and manipulate surfaces and control their flow
  • Use Alias tools to modify your design and create design variations
  • Describe an Alias workflow and explain its capacity for conceptual modeling

Jorge Quiroz worked for almost 15 years in the United States implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology in the private and public sector, where he helped architects, engineers, construction companies, and government agencies develop infrastructure projects such as bridges, highways, tunnels, ports, train terminals, and airports. The complexity of his job makes him specialized in the documentation and standardization of workflows, process, procedures, and best practices while working in multidisciplinary projects, which include, in most of the cases, more than 15 trades. In 2012, Quiroz moved to South America and opened DCV Consultores, a consulting company that offers solutions for architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and owners in the areas of virtual design and construction. Over the last 3 years, the company has been working directly with the Autodesk Latin America (LATAM) Team, helping the biggest construction and real estate companies in the region adopt BIM technology.
