Bifrost is a powerful graphical programming environment for creating procedural visual effects simulations, geometry, rigging, and animation. In this session, we'll showcase new, modular, deep-learning workflows in Maya software using Bifrost. We will demonstrate how to use Bifrost for procedurally generating training data for AI systems, as well as how to deploy trained AI models in Bifrost using new Bifrost nodes designed for deep learning. The session will include practical examples of industry problems that are suited to a media and entertainment audience, such as using AI for complex rigging kinematic solvers.

Take your first steps into the world of machine learning. Learn how a neural network can be used to dramatically speed up the removal of noise in ray traced images. In this lab you will learn about noise in rendered images, use a network trained to denoise sample images, and iterate and modify parameters improving the quality of the denoiser. By the end of the lab, you will have the tools and the knowledge to build your own AI accelerated denoiser.

In partnership with Esri and Nearmap, Kimley-Horn is using high-resolution aerial imagery and deep-learning tools to transform workflows, gain unprecedented location insights, and make project delivery easier, faster, and more efficient. Attendees will learn how to address common firm challenges, improve design accuracy, and reduce rework using pretrained machine-learning models and up-to-date site intelligence. We'll discuss a wide variety of workflows and use cases, including how to automate image feature identification and extraction and seamlessly integrate those features into project drawings using the Autodesk Connector/ArcGIS for AutoCAD plug-ins.

With the growth of reality capture devices in the construction jobsites, and the lowering cost of hardware, the construction industry is finally ready to capitalize on artificial intelligence and machine vision. This class will demonstrate how the construction jobsite can capitalize on machine vision to track progress, detect deviations, and calculate the quantity of work completed. Deep-learning technology classifies point cloud data into geometric and semantic segments, creating intelligent models automatically. Comparing scans with 3D intelligent-model qualities can be tracked accurately. AI enables you to eliminate the ambiguity inherent to the pencil requisition process. Comparing exact quantities of materials in place to the total project quantities gives you an accurate percentage complete of work in place, enabling you to make data-driven decisions.

This session will explore how the speaker saw an opportunity to use Model Checker on Autodesk Forge to enable a deep dive into modeled data, using Microsoft Power BI to quickly and easily understand team trends and performance inside their models. Artificial intelligence-machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL)-is advancing rapidly. Industry 4.0 smart factories will provide (through the Internet of Things and data sharing) the massive amount of data required for accurate ML/DL training. Where are we today and how will this technology impact manufacturing in the future?

This class will talk about the DNA of different buildings and how they can be compared to living organisms. We can classify species, so why can’t we apply knowledge from bioinformatics to the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry? This class will show how deep-learning algorithms can be applied to perform predictive analysis based on the “parents” generation. The concept derives from a better understanding of how our human evolution works. It diverges from Darwin’s and Lamarck’s theories to imply an evolution of our genes during the transfer of the information from parent to child, from a historic airport to the next one. This specific gene is called HOX. Understanding the evolutionary theory related to the transfer knowledge is a key point for the raising of artificial intelligence in the AEC industry.
