Plex-Earth is an engineering-led product built for the day-to-day reality of AEC work: deadlines, messy inputs, and the need to make decisions before the survey arrives. The focus is simple: make real-world context usable inside CAD, not trapped in side tools, screenshots, and disconnected reference files.

Recent and historical high-resolution imagery.

For projects that need sharper, more recent imagery than default basemaps provide, Plex-Earth offers direct access to premium imagery partners within the platform, without separate contracts. Premium providers like Vantor (formerly Maxar), Airbus, Hexagon, and Nearmap offer higher-resolution or specialized coverage that’s especially useful for dense urban sites, complex corridors, and higher-stakes planning work.

  • Import design-ready imagery: Bring high-resolution aerial/satellite imagery into the drawing (single images or mosaics) for reliable site context.
  • Build terrain models from elevation data: Turn elevation sources (including GeoTIFF) into CAD terrain outputs like contours, meshes, and native Civil 3D surfaces.
  • See site change over time: Create imagery timelines with recent + historical datasets using Timeviews.
  • Transform coordinate systems without rework: Convert between coordinate systems while keeping Plex-Earth imagery and terrain aligned.
  • Connect your own basemaps: Add WMS/WMTS/Tile Server/ArcGIS services as custom imagery providers inside CAD.
  • Share via Google Earth: Export CAD geometry to Google Earth with KML/KMZ (including 3D KMZ options) for a simple, shareable 3D view.
  • Adjust imagery in-CAD: Fine-tune brightness/contrast/transparency and create clippings/cutouts to keep drawings readable.
