Arkio

Design better buildings together. With Arkio, you can ideate, review, and present your work in a collaborative design environment, saving both time and money.

Immerse yourself in Arkio using Meta Quest or work on your PC, Mac, tablet or phone. Import your Revit projects and experience them at 1:1 scale, as if they’re already built. Markup, comment and try new design ideas with ease. With Arkio you can make good designs great.

Works with: Autodesk Build & Autodesk Docs

The Integration

Using the Arkio Autodesk Build integration, you can easily import your Revit project into Arkio without having to open Revit on a PC. Whether you want to experience your work at 1:1 scale, do a quick collaborative design review with the team, or present your work to a customer, the Autodesk Build integration makes the process seamless and quick.

Arkio is a design collaboration tool for AEC that enables you to experience buildings before they’re built. With Arkio, anyone can join using XR headsets like Meta Quest, PC, Mac, tablets, and phones. This allows you to identify design issues early on and avoid misunderstandings that can be costly to fix later in the design process.

Details

  • Import Revit projects from Autodesk Docs
  • Collaborate with up to 24 people in real-time using XR headsets, PC, Mac, tablets and phones
  • Toggle layers, change time of day, create section planes, add markups and notes
  • Ideate using smart shapes and components that can be grabbed, stretched, and glued like physical building blocks
  • Export your designs as native geometry and families back to Autodesk Revit

"It just works! Arkio seems designed to be used and is easy to learn. The fact that one license owner can invite many participants for “free review” helps to scale this solution and has made it possible to implement Arkio on a live project overnight. The next morning customers were already collaborating in XR with the whole manager group. Great success!"

Use Cases

American Structurepoint Accelerates Client Decisions with Arkio

Our architecture team regularly shares 3D models with clients, but even well-made renderings and animations don't always prevent misunderstandings. Things that seem clear on screen sometimes feel “off” in real life—and late-stage tweaks or redesigns are more common than we like. Great designs sometimes get lost in translation. By integrating Arkio into our workflow, we now bring BIM models directly into VR for live review sessions with clients and internal teams. The team runs tailored presentations using Quest headsets and Arkio’s collaborative tools to match the needs of each audience—whether it’s a formal meeting with city officials or a casual after-hours internal review. Arkio offers an ongoing design integrity check. VR exposes the gaps. We often make small but critical adjustments—tweaking proportions, adjusting ceiling heights, rebalancing an elevation—that elevate a design from good to great. https://www.arkio.is/blog/case-study-structurepoint/

RISE Architects uses Arkio to review their designs, on site and in the studio.

One of our primary focuses was providing laypeople with a full-scale view of what their spaces would look like. Our clients, who were trying to lease out space before construction, were having a hard time selling spaces, as potential tenants couldn't understand the spatial capacities of the proposed tenancy through plans, renderings, and traditional methods. True-to-scale AR experiences put them directly into the space, making it much easier for them to define the potential of the site. Arkio significantly improved our workflow in many different areas. It is much easier to convey design intent when RISE and the client can walk through our proposed concept together. The client enjoys the “preview” of the actual building before construction, which ultimately cuts down on decision-making time. As the architect, Arkio helps us ensure that safety requirements are met and allows us to identify any mistakes early on. Overall, once we implemented Arkio into our workflow, we have noticed improvements in collaboration, ideation, and time-expenditure, as well as reduced miscommunication and an increase in early detection and issue avoidance. https://www.arkio.is/blog/case-study-rise/

Simple and effective collaboration in XR with Arkio at Norconsult.

Often when starting with new software tools you run into issues with loading your own project, getting approval for license or needing to purchase the correct hardware. Arkio appears to be designed for unrestricted use. Don’t have a model? No problem. Datasets are available. Don’t have a license? You're just one click away from a trial. Don’t have a headset or a computer with a good GPU? No worries - it works without them! The fact that one license owner can invite many participants for “free review” in Arkio helps to scale this solution in the field faster and made it possible for us to implement this solution on a live project overnight, that is absolute record time considering we started 21:00 in the evening and next day at 09:00 customers already were collaborating in a virtual environment with the whole manager group. Arkio enables us to include all of the stakeholders all the way to the end users to give meaningful feedback, so there are no surprises left in the end and they get the design adjusted to their specific needs. https://www.arkio.is/blog/case-study-norconsult/
