Our architecture team regularly shares 3D models with clients, but even well-made renderings and animations don't always prevent misunderstandings. Things that seem clear on screen sometimes feel “off” in real life—and late-stage tweaks or redesigns are more common than we like. Great designs sometimes get lost in translation. By integrating Arkio into our workflow, we now bring BIM models directly into VR for live review sessions with clients and internal teams. The team runs tailored presentations using Quest headsets and Arkio’s collaborative tools to match the needs of each audience—whether it’s a formal meeting with city officials or a casual after-hours internal review. One of our primary focuses was providing laypeople with a full-scale view of what their spaces would look like. Our clients, who were trying to lease out space before construction, were having a hard time selling spaces, as potential tenants couldn't understand the spatial capacities of the proposed tenancy through plans, renderings, and traditional methods. True-to-scale AR experiences put them directly into the space, making it much easier for them to define the potential of the site. Arkio significantly improved our workflow in many different areas. It is much easier to convey design intent when RISE and the client can walk through our proposed concept together. The client enjoys the “preview” of the actual building before construction, which ultimately cuts down on decision-making time. As the architect, Arkio helps us ensure that safety requirements are met and allows us to identify any mistakes early on.
