Latuindo Moved from 2D to 3D Workflow to Comply with Customer's Requirements

Latuindo Moved from 2D to 3D Workflow to Comply with Customer's Requirements

Customer challenge

Most of the biggest customers of PT. Latuindo have already using Autodesk 3D CAD tools in designing their parts, components and products. PT. Latuindo need to cope up with the technology to comply with customer's requirements.

Project goals

- Autodesk 3D CAD Modeling for Casting process and simulation - Determine core & cavity for casting process - Creation of CAM G-Codes

Solution

After presenting Autodesk Inventor capability in handling casting products and processes design, Latuindo agreed to have a training program from CiptaSatria with real life cases examples similar to their design workflow

Business outcome

Latuindo engineers were able to produce core & cavity model for casting process, reducing time in producing Lathe G-codes by utilizing post-processor features and was able to ignore Mastercam extension for Lathe, eventually.

Conclusion

"Of the many projects with Autodesk Inventor this is very helpful and easy to use software as long as all already exist CAD CAE CAM including on Autodesk Inventor. Casting model making is also better in Autodesk Inventor. When creating G-codes can already be covered with the Inventor CAM without the need to translation to Mastercam" - Deddy Santoso, Technical Director.
