Inventor software has been on the market for more than 20 years. The user base keeps growing. The amount of accumulated knowledge and documentation is staggering. Some workflows are not easy to understand. Some workflows are hard to document. Some workflows require contextual awareness to use. This presentation will share those useful tips and tricks to boost design productivity.

This session will present a workflow between Inventor and Revit software using Dynamo as an automation tool for production. Our firm has an extensive history of using Inventor for bridge infrastructure modeling and using programming to automate production. Structural concrete or steel, reinforcement, bolted connections, and construction details are represented in our parametric models. Our firm chose Inventor as a primary 3D production tool due to its short learning curve with new 3D modelers, approachability, and native parametric functionalities. However, to be within a building information modeling (BIM) environment for collaboration with partnering firms and clients, we pushed these Inventor models into Revit using a combination of location data from our analysis models and Dynamo inside Revit. With this workflow, we can automate the assembly of our Revit intelligent model, establish Inventor as a BIM support tool for modeling within the production team, and retain our firm's Inventor assets for future BIM projects.

If you're curious about iLogic Automation in Autodesk Inventor, but don't know where to start, now is your chance to bend iLogic to your will! In this hands-on lab, you will get started with Autodesk Inventor iLogic and discover simple techniques to save time and effort in parts, assemblies, and drawings. We'll walk through five iLogic examples that will teach you the basics of iLogic, increase your confidence - and show you the potential of including iLogic into your everyday work. The class includes datasets and full written and recorded video instructions so you can take the examples back to your office for practice and add the techniques you've learned into your workflow. This is a beginner-level class in iLogic for confident Inventor users. If you've heard about iLogic but never tried it out, this class is for you!

This session will cover facility maintenance as a step toward a virtual factory. We'll address effective visualization workflows for equipment modeling using Inventor software. Then we'll create an immersive virtual environment that will be implemented with a head-mounted virtual reality (VR) device and hand controllers. You will learn how to operate the equipment within a virtual environment to perform a task while remaining off-site. This method is useful for facility managers/owners, especially when physical presence in the field is impossible for reasons such as natural disasters, pandemics, regional shut downs, and time limitations. 

While you make analyses using Inventor Nastran software, you do many things correctly (assigning the right connection types, applying the loads correctly, and so on). Inventor Nastran software is a powerful and comprehensive tool available within the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection. This session will introduce you to over 20 Top Inventor Nastran Tips and will include going through different type of connectors including Rigid, Spring and Rod elements using various examples demonstrating Inventor nastran live including Blast Load and Drop Test scenarios. You will be introduced to Linear analysis and Nonlinear Analysis using both implicit and explicit solvers including Nonlinear Transient Response Analysis and Explicit Dynamics Analysis. The session workflows will be based on industry best practices and my experience with working with designers and engineers. The goal of this session is to make you more confident in using Inventor Nastran software, and thus help you make better and more-innovative products within your workplace. The knowledge gained in this session will be also be relevant to Fusion Simulation as it uses the same technology as Inventor Nastran.

In this class, you'll learn from a bridge engineer who successfully designed almost 40 bridges using the InfraWorks-centered bridge modeling workflow. You'll see an overview of the workflow and get advice on how to implement it efficiently for a real-world project. Following an overview of the workflow that includes road modeling in Civil 3D software, bridge setup in InfraWorks software, preparation of parametric bridge parts in Inventor software, and production of drawings via Revit software, this class will teach you how to prepare a virtual environment in InfraWorks for ease of workability and sharing of data sources via Autodesk Docs. You'll learn how to exchange the road models between InfraWorks and Civil 3D, including modification of road assemblies for bridge modeling in InfraWorks. This class will demonstrate modeling of individual bridge parts, such as abutments in Inventor or Revit. You'll see the preparation of drawings in Revit and related fine-tuning of the bridge model in InfraWorks.
