Mentors still needed for the AU Freshman Orientation
Calling all loyal fans of Autodesk University! We need you to pitch in and help the AU team give more than 1,400 newbies the most positive experience they can have at AU 2013. We need 140 mentors for the AU Freshman Orientation on Monday night to answer questions, facilitate discussion among the people at your table, and impart your invaluable AU wisdom to the group. Join the fun in the Autodesk 360 lounge at AU 2013
Since September 3, Autodesk employees have been using and testing our soon-to-be-announced cloud collaboration product in an exciting competition that will culminate at Autodesk University in our Autodesk 360 lounge. Come to the lounge see what they created!
At total of 60 employees in 14 teams from offices all over world are competing in this contest. Their only requirement: use the new cloud collaboration product and report on its usability and capabilities. So far, the product’s implementation team has received good feedback from the contestants—over 100 distinct reports.

With so many things going on simultaneously at AU, new attendees may end up feeling completely overwhelmed. Last year for the first time, some of our AU veterans stepped up and helped out our struggling newbies. Will that be you this year?

Autodesk University survival tips
This will be my 6th AU conference and it’s always a tremendously fun (and also exhausting) experience, with all the rushing around to the next session or the Exhibit Hall or lounges or having lots of fun conversations with speakers and attendees.
I am also always “wowed” by all the new technologies and approaches to design and engineering that are presented at AU. That’s a lot to take in over a few days, especially if you are new to AU and are attending classes.
