Key Dates for AU 2010

Over the past two years since I joined the AU Team, Autodesk University has not only grown, but also morphed into something much bigger—evolving from an important annual user conference into an online year-round learning and networking destination for AU members. It's exciting to be part of a team so incredibly devoted to creating the most innovative and optimal learning experience for all AU members, no matter what their budget or where they are in the world.

In 2009, AU added two new events—AU Virtual and AU Extension. AU Virtual brought a new dimension to the AU experience, combining live and on-demand virtual learning and networking for our global membership. More than 90% of respondents to our AU Virtual survey said they would recommend another AU Virtual event to their colleagues, and the AU team has taken this to heart with plans for an even bigger and better AU Virtual event this year.

After the conference and AU Virtual in December, AU Extension extended the benefits of AU by sharing classes and content from AU Virtual with Autodesk Authorized Training Centers (ATC®). We had nearly 100 events in 36 countries and over 2000 customers participated. Similar events are being considered for 2010.

Plans for 2010 are already shaping up. Not content to "rest on our laurels", since mid-December, we've been working on some innovative ideas and making plans to redesign our AU website, improve and extend our AU offerings in 2010, and to streamline and improve the registration process. We'll be keeping you up-to-date as those plans solidify.

Meanwhile, I can share some key AU dates for 2010:

March 1–April 30   Call for Proposals: Submissions for AU 2010 presentations accepted
May 1–June 15 AU Team selects classes for the AU 2010 conference and AU Virtual
August 15 AU 2010 class information posted to the AU website (autodeskuniversity.com)
August 31 AU 2010 registration opens
Nov. 30–Dec. 2 AU 2010 Conference and Exhibition at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, and AU Virtual 2010

Just like last year, AU members will have a chance to vote for their favorite class proposals.  So stay tuned and we'll keep you posted as more details become available.
