AU Japan 2018 Explores the Future of Making
AU is a global learning community focused on helping every member advance in their careers while also advancing the industries we work in. Last week, we got on Tokyo time to explore the future of making at AU Japan.
Professionals from the worlds of design, engineering, construction, manufacturing, and media gathered at the Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba to share knowledge, get hands-on with new technologies, and learn how to adapt to the ongoing transformations in industry practice and process.
Autodesk Senior Vice President Steve Blum opened the conference with a discussion of how the construction and manufacturing industries are converging, and how modular approaches to architecture are enabling firms to build more (and more efficient) buildings and homes in less time for less money.
The event featured keynotes for manufacturing and architecture, as well as more than 100 learning and networking sessions over the course of the day, giving attendees a chance to learn, connect, and develop relationships with experts and professionals like themselves creating better ways to make our built world.
And in the Expo, attendees explored firsthand how professionals like themselves are putting new technologies to work to do more and make better with less impact on the environment—and the people who live in it.
