In this class, you learn how to explore, navigate, and move around in Autodesk PLM 360. We cover what tools are available, how to configure them, and how to organize your data. We help you make sense of demo data that is available to you. You also learn to navigate help, user forums, and other media and how to get support.

What would you say if you could take a more-simplified concept model useful for quickly and accurately quoting jobs and then utilize that same model to jump start your detailed engineering design process? We'll explore using the Factory Design Utilities software to quickly build concept models for the quoting and customer-presentation process. Specifically utilizing the Factory Design Utilities Connector technologies lets us easily "snap build" models together and transfer parameter values to maximize conceptual design efficiency. From there, we'll talk specific structure, utilizing virtual components within the concept model to drive BOM creation from real components, both standard library (non-changing) as well as custom-engineered parts with their associated drawings. This lets us save time engineering the model and integrate with data management systems, like Vault software.

The Fusion 360 Drawings Team has implemented a lot of new and exciting functionality this year. This class aims to provide an overview of current capabilities: multisheet sheet metal, faster dimensioning, and smart templates, as well as a sneak peek into what the Fusion 360 Drawings Team is working on. We will cover this through a series of demonstrations that create shop drawings ready for manufacture. The iLogic component of Inventor software is a powerful tool that you can utilize to automate the design process, improving efficiency and quality of work. This hands-on lab will look at the ability of iLogic to automate the design process, making it easier for end users to create designs. In this class you will create iLogic Rules and code that will turn an Inventor software model into a “Design Master Model” to churn out many different variations of the “Design Master Model” for production / manufacturing use. We will touch on API code to generate user parameters and code structure that will automate the design by reading data from an embedded spreadsheet. The Styles Editor gives you great "out of the box" functionality, and the ability to create your own unique styles. A basic understanding of this tool can greatly improve your modeling and drawing productivity.

This class will be a presentation of tips, tricks, and work-arounds for the Inventor software Tube & Pipe add-in. A powerful design tool built into the Inventor software landscape, Tube & Pipe is the bread-and-butter tool for many designers. We will explore some advanced editing techniques, as well as secrets and work-arounds for successfully routing and populating pipe runs in this environment. The class will focus on rigid piping, but tips will be applicable to flexible hose and tubing design as well. This session features Inventor Professional.

Talking about a topic is one thing, seeing it is something else. This class will be a live demonstration of some of the key things to know about working with Inventor Tube & Pipe. I will demonstrate getting into the Tube & Pipe environment, set up a tube & pipe style, create a pipe assembly, add pipe runs and create pipe routes in them. I will then populate those routes using various tube & pipe styles. I will also edit and even break some of these routes to show ways of fixing things when your plan inevitably falls apart. The techniques shown will be those I use every day, but may not be the only correct methods.
