You now know what industrialized construction is. Learn how different technologies can improve and augment your current workflows. This session will review several technologies including Forge in the application of an industrialized construction workflow. The conversation will include the workflow from design to commissioning.

Industrialized construction: The application of manufacturing techniques in the built environment. The architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry is under pressure to change—to become more productive and less dangerous, and provide increasing levels of certainty. The industry is set to shift a significant part of the value chain to prefabrication, and Autodesk is committed to supporting its customers on their journeys. In this session, you'll hear from Autodesk's industrialized construction head of strategy and evangelism, Amy Marks, on how Autodesk is approaching industrialized construction and the company’s strategies for product, services, and evangelism.

In recent years, industrialized construction has become a hot topic. The term “design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA)” is used in many conversations when discussing industrialized construction. We will discuss how DfMA pertains to industrialized construction, what DfMA is, and what DfMA is not.

Industrialized construction is growing rapidly in North America and globally. This session will survey current best-practices related to successful business models in offsite/industrialized construction and prefabrication including an innovative example from Ladacube, where we are seeing adoption, and digital tools that can support growth. Finally, this session will synthesize what we've learned to-date to highlight promising forward-looking practices and technologies which will enable additional growth of IC/offsite construction going forward.

Industrialized construction is becoming a household name within the building industry due to its advantages in improving productivity, quality, accuracy, and efficiency. Applying innovative BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows and using advanced technologies through all stages from design to production has been one of Nordic Office of Architecture’s most important strategies for success in industrialized construction. In this class, you will gain insight into the Scandinavian way of industrialized construction, and see how a cross-disciplinary collaboration with the software development team of Project Frog has enabled new possibilities to aid in design for manufacturing and assembly (DfMA) and BIM workflows. We will showcase both a large-scale hospital and a smaller-scale set of high-end prefabricated housing. This collaboration reflects on the challenges that architects and engineers have faced in the presence of repeating information, and provides a step-by-step workflow for similar projects (hotels, schools, office buildings, and so on).

The recent joint Autodesk/RICS paper “Future of Work in Construction” calls on industry, government, and academia to join forces to help ensure the adoption of industrialized construction (IC) for transformational change in our industry. Each stakeholder—academia, the private sector, and the government—has a part to play in this shift of thinking, behaviors, and processes in order to facilitate change. The future of the industry is highly dependent on the competence of graduates entering the workforce. In the face of troubling skilled-labor shortages, new employees must enter the industry with the abilities and exposure to technologies to drive digital construction, the IC processes, and higher levels of precision in construction. In this panel discussion, we will highlight the current status and develop a road map aimed at helping stakeholders work together to enable graduates who have knowledge of the required interdisciplinary skills embrace IC fully.

Industrialized construction is widely discussed but unevenly implemented. This panel will bring together perspectives from research, technology, academia, and industry to examine what it will take to scale prefabrication, productization, and design for manufacturing and assembly (DfMA). Drawing on new global research with Dodge Construction Network across five markets, the session will explore why fewer than half of organizations report scaled use despite strong intent. Panelists will test these findings against real-world experience, focusing on procurement, early design decisions, supply chain integration, and workforce capability to identify what must change to reach industry-wide adoption.

Bouygues is industrializing construction with a multidiscipline modular landing shaft integrating water and electrical systems. We'll demonstrate how Autodesk Informed Design software connects BIM, fabrication, and installation into a seamless workflow. Using a modular MEP cabinet as a real-world case study, attendees will see how a single configurable design can generate fabrication-ready outputs, automate documentation, and ensure consistent quality across projects. We'll explore the impact of the Informed Design approach: reducing coordination errors, accelerating installation, and enabling scalable prefabrication strategies. We'll highlight how design rules and structured data allow teams to move from project-based delivery to repeatable, productized construction.

“Factory-made buildings are the next big thing since the Romans”—so where are they? Join our talk for a glimpse at the near-future of industrialized construction—the ultimate marriage of the Autodesk Forge APIs, manufacturing, building information modeling (BIM), and construction. Despite its promises of improvement, off-site construction has continually struggled to achieve the significant momentum it requires in order to become self-sustaining. What's missing? At KOPE we've cracked one of the thorniest aspects in industrialized construction (IC)—supply chain transparency. Supplier secrecy is both a bug and a feature of the construction world. Through our off-site market, we've been building a free forum to democratize, open up, and interconnect the world of suppliers, projects, builders, and consultants. At KOPE, we're using Autodesk Forge technology to build the online platform for the coming world of off-site construction. We look forward to showing you what that looks like.

This session will explore the strategic shift from traditional construction to industrialized construction and what it means for the future of the built environment. Using DuPod as a case study, this session will examine how integrating engineering, digital platforms, and manufacturing creates a new delivery model for buildings one based on productization, scalability, and predictable outcomes. Rather than treating buildings as one-off projects, industrialized construction applies manufacturing logic to create repeatable building systems and supply chains. This discussion will focus on how this shift can reshape productivity, risk, and value creation across the construction industry.

Industrialized construction has become a key conversation globally for owners and developers looking to reduce risk and schedules and increase standardization across their portfolios. This panel will invite leaders from globally recognized owners and ask them for their perspectives on this trend and how they are approaching this disruptive method of building.

Industrialized construction is becoming more important than ever, considering current housing shortages and a decline in skilled labor. Optimizing factory processes is thus essential for productivity; however, changes to lines can be both expensive and disruptive. In this presentation we will demonstrate how a process-based digital twin can help to analyze and optimize a factory. First, a factory information model is created using discrete event simulation and virtual reality. This model is then updated using a variety of sensors that can measure baseline performance. Together, the model and sensors produce a digital twin of a factory that serves as a virtual test bed for evaluating the manufacturing process and optimizing factory layout and resource allocation to mitigate any adverse effects. We’ll share preliminary results from an ongoing project to integrate energy efficiency technologies into modular buildings with little or no additional lead time and first cost.

Industrialized construction is here to stay; prefabricated elements in the built environment and the design-for-manufacture-and-assembly (DfMA) process that enables it are fast becoming the norm across all sectors. So why is it that most of the case studies and best practices we see relate to volumetric modular construction of housing and hospitality? What about the vast but largely unsung impact of advanced building products, single-trade assemblies, and multitrade assemblies that make up the majority of the market? This panel will invite leaders from across the prefabrication continuum to explore why it's not just about modular.

Industrialized construction requires coordination across design and manufacturing workflows, but today these processes remain fragmented. This session will explore how AI agents can help connect product and project workflows, enabling earlier decision making and improved constructability. You'll see how validation and specification workflows can be applied today within Autodesk tools, along with a phased view toward configuration, productization, and continuous improvement. A real workflow example will demonstrate how teams can move from disconnected automation to coordinated execution.

How do you deliver iconic, high-quality venues at speed and scale? This session will explore how productization, systemization, and kit-of-parts strategies are transforming the design and delivery of large-scale entertainment venues. Drawing on global case studies from temporary World Cup stadiums to immersive venues like Sphere this talk will demonstrate how standardized components and platform-based approaches enable flexibility, performance, and rapid deployment. It will also examine how digital workflows, BIM, and data-driven design all support convergence between design, manufacturing, and operations. You'll gain practical insight into applying industrialized construction principles without compromising experience or design quality.

The UK Government has joined the private sector in its commitment to a Platforms approach to industrialized construction and DfMA, outlining how this process underpins UK policy for social infrastructure in its ‘Construction Playbook’. The supporting plan to unify and mobilize data seeks to identify cross-department commonalities to inform the centralized, standardized design that will create economies of scale great enough to supply predictable, consistent pipelines and bolster a disaggregated manufacturing supply chain. Plugged into the existing supply chain, the barrier to entry is low, with no need for vertical integration or investment in manufacturing/prefabrication. As a result, opportunities for new programme-level roles will arise. Already a major feature in the procurement of 40 UK healthcare facilities, not only is this approach transforming the way the UK delivers public sector assets, but it is also paving the way for swift mainstream adoption.

This approach aims to enhance efficiency, scalability, and Sustainable Design in the construction industry. By using digital technologies—including BIM, MID (manufacturing informed design), production design, Automation, Integration, & Customization, and modular construction—industrialized construction streamlines the design-to-construction process, reducing waste, costs, and project timelines. In this session, we’ll explore workflows that seamlessly integrate design, engineering, manufacturing, and construction, fostering collaboration and innovation. All of these workflows for industrialized construction empower stakeholders to build smarter, greener, and more resilient structures, meeting the demands of modern urbanization and environmental challenges.

This session introduces a next-generation design for excellence (DfX) framework for industrialized construction, which combines design for manufacturing, assembly, disassembly, and sustainability into an AI-enabled decision-making system. This framework seeks to shift construction from a project-based approach to a performance-driven, product-based approach, focusing on constructability and lifecycle optimization early in the design phase. Demonstrated through a pilot building in six stages loading, learning, programming, assembly, experimentation, and exhibition it incorporates computational design, large-scale 3D concrete printing, robotic assembly, and prefabrication, and serves as a living laboratory for advancing industrialized construction systems.
