Customer challenge

Workpoint Group is a Highly functional independent TV content production company that grows into a multimedia corporation, now operating the top digital television channel, Workpoint channel. Since they had to recruit creators, who mainly produced cartoon animation, from one of their subsidiary companies called Ban Ittilit, that was a very challenging to switch these creators to produce TV content in a short period of time. The only tool, while creators created cartoon animation, was Autodesk Maya. And they were wondering whether Autodesk Maya, the current tool could be enough and used to create TV content or they needed to change their tools in order to handle their new role.

Project goals

Workpoint Group’s expecting for their new recruited creators reskill from cartoon animation creation to TV content creation within a short period of time. Besides that, Workpoint expected creators to use old tools, Autodesk Maya, to create TV content as much a possible.

Solution

Our team at IT Solution Computer (Thailand) started introducing creators with new and more features of Autodesk Maya, the tool that they used to create animation, in order that they can used Autodesk Maya to create a Modeling instead. And we also introduced them Autodesk 3Ds Max to create performance scene design. A very popular TV show of Workpoint named, Thailand Mask Singer, was used by Autodesk Maya and Autodesk 3Ds Max to create mascot and performance scenes. All masks and costumes of each singer were designed by Autodesk Maya, and each backdrop design was created by Autodesk 3Ds Max.

Business outcome

With our little guild on Autodesk Maya and Autodesk 3Ds Max, creators could start their new roles as the TV content creator easily. They didn’t need too much time to reskill their roles because they had skill set about products. It’s very good for Workpoint that they can continue their schedule without interrupting. They cloud produce more contents with their new recruited creators in a short period of time.

Conclusion

We’re glad that these new recruited creators could continue their jobs with new roles as TV content creators in a short period of time. With using Autodesk Maya and Autodesk 3Ds Max, They could continue their works immediately and Workpoint’s business could continue with less interruption. Even though our assist was not the big issue, but they caused a very good impact to our customer. They didn’t spend too much time to find a new tools, but they could create new job with the previous tools that they specialize in it.
