Success Story

Autodesk Vault implementation in Polon-Alfa

Autodesk Vault implementation in Polon-Alfa

Customer challenge

Polon Alfa is the largest Polish manufacturer of fire alarm systems and metering equipment. The company offers both complete solutions including control panels, detectors, manual call points and individual fire protection accessories. The company has been on the market for over 60 years and in the course of continuous development it is crucial to choose the right tools to meet the challenges of the market.

Project goals

In the design process, in addition to economy, functionality, time to develop technical documentation and flexibility of execution are very important. Appropriate tools are necessary for this - that is why in 2018. Therefore, in 2018, a decision was made to cover all processes taking place in the company with an IT system, from research, through design, production, to product sales. In order to realize this implementation, the ERP class system was combined with the PDM system.

Solution

The company has implemented two key Autodesk solutions. The first is a design support software called Autodesk Product Design & Manufacturing Collection. The second tool is Autodesk Vault, which allows seamless management of all technical documentation. All technical documentation for new products is created by designers in Autodesk Inventor. Autodesk Vault, on the other hand, allows to manage versions of this documentation both in mechanical and electronic version, as well as to prepare BOMs of materials for production orders. Additionally, all descriptive documents concerning a given product are placed there, e.g. technical and operation documentation, catalog cards, etc.

Business outcome

"In POLON-ALFA we put emphasis on team work, that is simultaneous work of many designers without need to build complicated and expensive in maintenance server structures and file exchange. One Autodesk Vault server provides managing versions of particular files of each project, the status of particular design phases and the whole documentation approval path which is created both in Inventor and other applications. The implementation of changes to the product along with the entire decision-making process in production is carried out using Change Request in the Autodesk Vault system. It is effective solution especially in today's dynamically changing situation of lack of components on the market. During the implementation of the production process, employees performing individual operations have real-time access to documentation through Autodesk Design Review."

Conclusion

Autodesk Vault system has been integrated with ERP system by platinum partner Autodesk company PROCAD. Currently all data concerning a given product, including changes, are migrated from Autodesk Vault system to ERP system. This allows to coordinate production processes of our products. In the future, we intend to extend the present IT system with PLM, i.e. Product Life Management software. Autodesk offers Autodesk Fusion 360 Manage software. Thanks to this software we will be able to manage all the processes in the company concerning the product itself and not only the data created in the design and production process. Especially in foreign markets.

Astonishing Visualisations and Animations of the Highest Skyscraper in EU by Luminance Studio

When HB Reavis company, an international provider of workspace approached us with a request to create visuals and animations promoting their literally biggest creation - the largest skyscraper Varso in the European Union - we knew it would be a demanding task. Our goal was to promote office spaces, in one of the most important construction investments in the capital of Poland. Basically, it was up to us to help create marketing materials to effectively sell the office space in the building. Located in the heart of Warsaw, Varso office building consists of 3 buildings: Two smaller office buildings Varso 1 and Varso 2 designed by HRA Architekci, where in addition to office space, we will also find public space with stores, restaurants and services. Particularly noteworthy is a huge lobby, where we can see planted trees creating a friendly, green space inside the building. Finally, the Varso Tower - a 310-metre dream of many designers and architects.
