Success Story

Elkay - Vault Implementation

Elkay - Vault Implementation

Customer challenge

Elkay Manufacturing was founded on January 26, 1920 on 2,100 square feet of leased space in Chicago's North Side. And since then, Elkay has grown throughout the United States and with international operating facilities in China and Mexico serving global markets. Throughout these 100 years and as Elkay enters their second century, they have focused on recognizing that the driving force behind their success is people. Therefore, they always seek to invest time and budget in their constant pursuit to improve and this project was no exception.

Project goals

In this search for constant updating, Elkay worked with Autodesk Solution Provider Compucad to implement a local collaborative data management solution which included Autodesk Vault and its connection and encryption flows with Inventor.

Solution

Once the project scope that Elkay was looking for in its design flow were clear, Compucad helped the team in Mexico to train, develop standards and implement a solution on a local server in order to integrate and align with technical standards set in the USA.

Business outcome

Elkay México now has a 100% integrated solution with an internationally standardized process across the company. The solution has delivered significant savings in time and re-work, improved response time, and increased quality of life for those people involved in the process. This has always been the goal of the company.

Conclusion

Elkay, Compucad and Autodesk solutions have constantly improved the Elkay business synergy, and this is a meaningful first step in the implementation of collaborative solutions and the automation of industry standard processes.
