This session is a high-level strategy road map of how companies with a large project portfolio can use Autodesk Construction Cloud to take pragmatic steps within the Autodesk Construction Cloud user interface to benefit both in the short term and long term. We'll use real-world examples using Amazon Transportation Engineering Services (TES) as a case study. We'll work through the practical planning of using cornerstone Autodesk Construction Cloud features such as Issues and Forms, and we'll look at how building on the use of these features can lead to powerful QuickSight dashboards, and, later, robust machine learning. The presentation will be broken down into three categories: 1) The Foundation: using out-of-the-box Autodesk Construction Cloud features with specific use cases; 2) The Frame: building automations and integrations to aid in manual efforts (with a focus on Autodesk Platform Services); and 3) The Roof: advanced machine learning and AI using Amazon Web Services (AWS). The success story of how DRA GLOBAL an Engineering Service company in the Mining and Mineral Resource space transitioned to cloud collaboration. With basic BIM360 usage, and enough DOCS licenses we were able to “unlock” the sudden lockdown situation. A fast-track transition was required to service multiple projects at various stages of design and construction. Reassuring our Project Teams, Client’s and Sub-Contractors that work will continue as normal. With BIM360 DOCS functionalities and well-established workflows and processes, we transitioned into the digital workspace. Instantly our 350 strong multidisciplinary Design group, could carry on working remotely. We shared designs, reviewed, checked and approved drawings with Clients, Consultants, Suppliers, and Sub-Contractors' input. A highlight was the application of 3D Model content used for reviews, which just reinforced DRA Global’s design capabilities and gave a sense of confidence to all.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is dominating the design, construction, and management of much of the vertical construction field, and has now started to gain the attention of the hydropower industry. At present, the more advanced examples of using BIM are from other industries. However, there are a growing number of examples of BIM adoption for hydropower projects. This presentation will demonstrate how BIM has been applied to hydroelectric facility design and rehabilitation, and we will look at the lessons learned and challenges based on recent experiences. Examples will include reality capture, parametric design, clash detection, visualization, engineering integration, quantity schedule, 4D modeling, A360 software for collaboration, BIM 360 mobile and web platform for engineering services in construction, and the adoption of new technologies like virtual reality and augmented reality. Even for the audience outside of the hydro industry, we would like to provide an insight into the use of BIM on any built environment. This session features Revit and InfraWorks 360. AIA Approved
