Surya Sejahtera Bersama uses Fusion 360 for Using Different CNC Machines & Type of Job Shops

Customer challenge

Surya Sejahtera Bersama is a WaterPump /Hydrant Manufacturing Company with different types of CNC machines and job shops including Turning, Milling and Laser Plasma Cutting to support their in house production. Additional job shops are used for stamping press and engineering parts. With these facilities and special conditions and situations for manufacturing, cost-effective CAD/CAM solutions plus excellent support was critical. The team needed to make their machines more productive with standard accuracy requirements met. To help meet the challenge, the Company met with Autodesk Solution Provider and CAM specialized partner Hankook Delcam Indonesia to discuss and seek the best solution for the unique business needs.

Project goals

The following Customer demands and requirements were identified: 1. Enable a CAD/CAM solution with support for their CNC Turning, Milling (3 & 4 Axis), and Laser Cutting shop with competitive costs. 2. Enable workflow with 2D drawing and 3D models. 3. Deliver training and implementation to support the team's real projects.

Solution

After intensive discussions and consultations to review business needs and fully understand technical and commercial requirements, Hankook Delcam Indonesia advised the team to begin using Autodesk Fusion 360 with the Machining Extension with CAD/CAM training and implementation support for their projects including post-processors for all of their machines.

Business outcome

Before the introduction of Fusion 360 and the Machining Extension, Surya Sejahtera experienced working only with 2D drawings and were not confident working with 3 Axis and 4 Axis machining so they were forced to reject these jobs from customers typically. Additionally, the machining process was long because CAD and CAM for simple parts worked with different systems. After implementing Fusion 360 with the Machining Extension, the team is now shipping complete CAD/CAM products with competitive costs. Excellent support has also helped to increase productivity, shorten machining times, and enable the team to become more confident and receive more complex jobs from customers. Finally, delivery times and product quality have also improved. The team can also now access the CAD/CAM files from anywhere, important as the company has two plants.

Conclusion

The advantages gained in the Shop Floor department include earning various types of jobs, confident use of different CNC machines, and fast and efficient workflows. Through continuous support and advanced technology training from Hankook Delcam Indonesia, the team has cut their lead times for CAD/CAM programming, actual machining times, and shortened delivery time as well with the higher efficiency gains. Surya Sejahtera Bersama looks forward to more new technical support from Hankook Delcam Indonesia in the future.

Making Complex Mold with 5-Axis Machining Achieving Great Accuracy & Productivity

ECCO is a global leader in innovative comfort footwear for men, ladies and kids with the slogan “Shoes you'll wear everywhere, because they feel so good”. Starting from 2019, they wanted to setup a new MoldShop department in Indonesia for making Outsole with the system Direct Injection Process (DIP) for their innovative comfort footwear with 5 AXIS machining facilities with the new team. The Direct Injection Process needed many mold tools because of using multi-section injection technology. Additionally, mass-production of highly complex shoe designs with many undercut profiles needs 5 AXIS machining technology, so the challenges that Ecco wanted to overcome are productivity, complexity, accuracy, precision and customization of software tools for automation.
