Employing an international team of incredibly knowledgeable engineers supporting numerous innovative Studios, they assist a diverse range of creative Artists & Animators whose mission is to “bring joy to life through the power of play.” Acutely aware of the benefits of amalgamating licenses with other principal software vendors, Aristocrat engaged Digistor to investigate Enterprise licensing options available in conjunction with Autodesk.

Project goals

A number of key requirements were identified: • Centralised purchasing including procurement for subsidiary entities • Global usage rights • Advanced analytics reporting including User details • International License compliance • License optimisation and cost efficiencies

Solution

The deployment of the Media & Entertainment Collection as standard software across all Studios enabled Artists to access their Autodesk 3ds Max or Autodesk Maya 3D application of choice, as well as offering additional creative options utilizing Arnold for rendering. We incremented the entitlements with the Autodesk Premium Subscription add-on to enable centralized purchasing and global usage rights. Additionally, we were able to migrate from the traditional network licensing to the Named-User model which added further cost efficiencies via the 2:1 arrangement. Premium Subscription also added Single Sign-On ability along with 24x7 Live Support from Autodesk.

Business outcome

Aristocrat now have full visibility of global Autodesk licensing allowing management to determine license requirements at the corporate level to maximise cost reduction with a global software agreement. Centralised purchasing reduces administration and avoids inefficient ad-hoc software purchases.
