At TED 2011, Autodesk launched a book celebrating the impact of design.
Featuring the work of dozens of leading designers, many of them TEDsters, Imagine Design Create tells stories of how technology is transforming design globally.
The book depicts how people are using fresh design approaches and new capabilities to solve problems, create opportunities, and improve the way we live and work.
“Humans’ remarkable ability to form mental patterns about how the world might be is truly one of our species’ most astonishing abilities. We normally examine it in artificially small silos called invention or design or artistic imagination. But they are inextricably connected. Here’s a rare look at the thrilling bigger picture, starring many of the characters who have lit up the TED stage in recent years.”
—Chris Anderson, TED Curator
“I consider Imagine Design Create a powerful and potent statement about the expanding role of creativity and design. This work gives us a deeper understanding of the universal principles of design and how emerging technologies will further unlock, unleash, and reset the creative spirit. Tom Wujec is a master connector of people, trends, and technologies. This book is an important glimpse into the future state of design as the prime catalyst for a better tomorrow.”
—John Hoke, Chief Design Officer, NIKE
