This seminar will explain how design and construction information can be collected in a common data environment (CDE) and used effectively for digital information uses (DI Uses). It creates information through a model-driven approach, collaborative production using Autodesk Construction Cloud, and information management processes based on ISO 19650. The value and quality of the information is increased when everyone on the project team shares data through the entire process, facilitating decision making by the appointing party and gaining their trust. Shared data is the golden thread and the core of information management. Finally, we'll describe our case study and vision of a data-driven digital Daiwa House, which puts the CDE into practice and proceeds on the basis of the information gained from it.

Daiwa House has been striving to achieve building information modeling (BIM) mandate in-house since 2017, and it has achieved many results, but not enough to maximize value. In order to create further business value and establish a solid foundation where the company can benefit from future technology innovations, we're evolving our data strategy and working with Autodesk Consulting on the Digital Daiwa House project. To achieve the goal, we're working on implementing a higher level of BIM maturity while increasing the maturity of the data required for construction projects. We're also working on the configurator as a mechanism to convert structured/standardized data into business value. The configurator links data throughout the project lifecycle and enhances the coordination of each stakeholder. In proportion to the maturity of BIM and data, capabilities in the configurator improve. We are aiming to achieve such an evolving configurator.

For Digital transformation initiated by HQ, in order to make it work at on-site in real projects, we have been working on concrete measures.  Understanding the capability of new new technologies, we started closely working with Autodesk to realize "what we really want on-site".
When we tried to implement new technologies into the actual workflow, we had faced various obstacles, from very small to huge one, but we had to solve all of them in order to make it truly usable at on-site. After numerous trials and errors, our way of working has changed dramatically by moving all drawings and documents from paper to electronic (Plangrid), data from local to cloud (BIM360), and 2D drawings to 3D models + VR. Work efficiency related to drawings has improved by 30%, and and we are now able to produce valuable outputs to our clients as well. We will talk about the challenges and possibilities for the future from a realistic point of view, because we are the person in charge at on-site.
