AU 2010 Show Guide Goes Mobile

If you haven’t had the opportunity to experience EventKaddy, you’re about to get the chance. EventKaddy is a mobile app that enables you to access AU 2010 event information—the classes, keynotes, special events, and exhibitors, as well as the social side of the event. In other words, this year we are making the AU Show Guide available from your mobile device.

You can use EventKaddy on any mobile device, from an iPhone to an iPad to a Blackberry to an Android to Windows Mobile.

Not only can you get information you typically find in the AU show guide, this app also includes interactive conference floor plans and maps and a My KADDY feature where you can add items to your personal virtual briefcase. You’ll also be able to electronically store exhibitor brochures, conference notes, and other literature there in PDF format.

You can receive notifications similar to a text message, such as schedule and room changes or upcoming events, like an announcement that the AUGI Beer Bust is about to start—a good thing to know. :-)

For those who are navigationally challenged, one nice feature is the interactive map. For example, while looking at a class description, you can click on a Map button and it will bring up the Mandalay Bay Convention Center map and show you the exact location of the classroom (outlined in red).

If you don’t have a mobile device available, you can either access Event Kaddy on the web from your laptop, or download a cached version to your iPad and use it without being connected to the web.

The social media component of EventKaddy enables you to follow all AU Tweets via Twitter, view the AU Facebook fan page, and also access SCVNGR and Foursquare for on-site fun and networking.

And finally, AU videos will be available on EventKaddy, some of them generated by the AU team and other by attendees.

Two things to note:

  • EventKaddy does not interact with your AU schedule and does not affect the classes you have reserved.  Nevertheless, this exciting app will go a long way toward making it easier to navigate around AU and find all that it has to offer.
  • Only Las Vegas classes (no AU Virtual classes) will be available on EventKaddy.

Stay tuned for more updates about EventKaddy and some fun activities coming up at the conference.
