Do You Have What It Takes to Be a Lab Assistant?

AU 2011 will feature 83 hands-on labs, which are some of the most popular sessions at AU. Each lab needs three assistants, and we have several labs that still need assistants. Take a look at the list below to see if you are an expert-level user in the products being featured in the labs. If so, consider being an assistant for the class. You don't get to wear a white coat, but you will get $75 and make some AU attendees very happy by answering their questions.

Requirements and Guidelines

Not just anyone can be a lab assistant. Make sure you can meet these requirements and guidelines:

  • You must be registered for AU 2011. Being a lab assistant does not get you a free pass to the conference.
  • You must be an expert-level user of the software version used in the lab you assist. Check with the instructor if you have questions.
  • You do not attend the lab, but are there to assist attendees without interrupting the class or asking the instructor for help.
  • You cannot take over teaching the class, and you must refrain from offering unsolicited opinions during class.
  • You must review the class materials prior to the class and work with the instructor if something is not clear.
  • You must meet the instructor in the classroom at least 15 minutes before the lab starts.
